With any new game figuring out the way the currencies can work is important. Sure, you might know that you can spend all of your money on buying food, but is that really the best way to use it? There are nine different currency systems in place, with more looking to be added in the future. So we've got to ask, how do we earn the different Genshin Impact currency? and what are the best uses of Genshin Impact currency?

The different Genshin Impact currency are listed out below, from premium currency to common, all of their many uses, as well as how to obtain them. A lot of the special currencies will come pretty quickly to start the game, but as it is a free-to-play title where gacha pulls and premium currency are how MiYoHo makes money, you can expect that the rewards might begin to trickle slightly.

Exclusively Premium Genshin Impact Currency

Genesis Crystals

How to earn them:

There is only one way to earn the Genesis Crystals, and that's by purchasing them using real-world money. You purchase them by bringing up your main menu and going to the shop. You can purchase them in bundles with other currencies like Primogems, or in packs of just Genesis Crystals. The first time you purchase Genesis Crystals, you'll get a double bonus.

Here's a list of the Genshin Impact Genesis Crystal bundles you can buy.

  • $0.99 - 60 Genesis Crystals
  • $4.99 - 300 Genesis Crystals
  • $14.99 - 980 Genesis Crystals
  • $29.99 - 1980 Genesis Crystals
  • $49.99 - 3280 Genesis Crystals
  • $99.99 - 6480 Genesis Crystals

Using these prices, we can break down the following value for Crystals. So if you are wanting to go all in, your best bet is the $29.99 bundle, which will give you the best bang for your buck. In the grand scheme of things you're only saving 0.1c per crystal doing this compared to the worst option, but that's the kind of value that might add up over time...

Genshin Impact Crystal Conversion

How to spend them:

Quite simply, the Genesis Crystals are able to be traded at a 1:1 value with the Primogems. It's in this form that they will have more of their usefulness.

Premium and Quest Reward Genshin Impact Currency

Primogems

You can earn Primogems from a large variety of quests and achievements. You don't always get rewarded with many at once, normally only 5-10 of them. But with so many ways to get them, that slow trickle ends up filling quite a large pool. The kinds of activities you earn Primogems from includes:

  • Converting them from Genesis Crystals
  • Purchasing premium bundles
  • Completing Daily Quests
  • Ranking up on the Battle Pass
  • Earning Achievements
  • Completing the Spiral Abyss

The Acquaint and Intertwined Fates are the two different types of Genshin Impact currency that will allow you to pull draws from the wish table. These will be different weapons and even more characters. If you happen to get duplicate characters on pulls, then you will be rewarded with equipment you can use to start leveling up their special abilities.

The Regional currency has the sigil of the element of the Seven of that region. Currently only two regions are available, Mondstadt and Liyue, so there's only the Anemo Sigil and the Geo Sigil. Nevertheless, they're still an important Genshin Impact currency to be building up.
