Genshin Impact’s huge 3.0 update is finally here, bringing with it the long-awaited Sumeru zone, a new Archon storyline, and new characters and weapons to collect. Along your journey in the new forested region of Sumeru and the new Archon storyline, you will come across the quest objective ‘Investigate the courtyard far down the corridor’ in the Silent Seeker of Knowledge quest. This quest takes place in Chapter III: Act I of the Archon storyline, Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark, which begins upon entering Sumeru for the first time (providing you have completed the prerequisite quest). This quest is quite the adventure, seeing the Traveler moving between different areas in a dream state, set in a unique Domain.

During this quest, you will encounter a puzzle - ‘Investigate the courtyard far down the corridor’. It can be a tricky puzzle if you don’t know what you’re supposed to be looking for. This is made only more prevalent thanks to a somewhat misleading quest objective that has resulted in many players leaving to reset the Domain believing it to be bugged. Thankfully, we have all the tips you need to complete the ‘Investigate the courtyard far down the corridor’ quest objective in the Silent Seeker of Knowledge Archon Quest.

What are the rewards for the Silent Seeker of Knowledge Archon Quest in Genshin Impact?

Upon completion of the Silent Seeker of Knowledge Archon Quest, you will be granted the following rewards:

This is a relatively standard reward as far as Archon Quest rewards go, but that’s not to say it’s not worthwhile! After all, Primogems are perhaps the most sought-after reward in the game given that they are used to buy Wishes, which is even more valuable with the release of powerful new playable Dendro characters in the 3.0 update.

How to start the ‘Investigate the courtyard far down the corridor’ quest objective in Silent Seeker of Knowledge

Early in the new Archon Questline that begins once the player first enters Sumeru, added in Genshin Impact’s 3.0 update, players will encounter a character named Haypasia. After being introduced to several key characters in this new narrative and completing a series of tasks for the nearby village of Gandharva Ville, players will be sent back to speak to Haypasia in a cave not far from the village. In doing so, players will be forced into a dream thanks to a shy Varanara, starting the Archon Quest Silent Seeker of Knowledge.

From here, players will be traversing a unique, quest-specific Domain, making use of the new Bouncy Mushrooms, Fear-Leaf Sigils, and Primeval Rosin to complete a series of straightforward puzzles and platforming. Follow the path and the quest markers until you have collected the three Primeval Rosin required to open the door in the central room. There are quite a few chests hidden in this Domain, so keep your eyes peeled for bonus treasure! There are also several fights with various Hilichurl so make sure you’re equipped for a fight.

Upon opening the door requiring three Primeval Rosin, players will be transported to another dimension for a second time, starting the quest objective to ‘Investigate the courtyard far down the corridor’.

How to complete the ‘Investigate the courtyard far down the corridor’ quest objective in the Silent Seeker of Knowledge Archon Quest

Players will enter into a large, square room and are tasked with the job of ‘investigating’. There is a large door to the left with an intricate symbol highlighted in a yellow glow and a picturesque Inazuman scene in the background. Instinct may prompt players to search around the door (it does glow, after all) or to try entering the Inazuman background. While this background cannot be entered or directly interacted with, it is a crucial part of the puzzle. Much like the closed door to the left of the room, there are more symbols in this scene. Two halves, in fact, located on rocks in the centre of the scene.

To complete the ‘Investigate the courtyard far down the corridor’ quest objective, players must align the two halves of the symbol located on the rocks using the camera. To do this, stand close to the railing on the right side of the room and rotate the camera until the two halves of the symbol are aligned. There is a small glowing marker that will appear on the floor to guide you as to where you should stand to align these symbols properly, only this marker does not immediately appear and has been bugged for some players.

Once the symbols are aligned, the courtyard puzzle is complete. The screen should go hazy, and the background will change into a painting, marking the end of this quest objective. Players should then be able to proceed through the door on the left wall and continue the Silent Seeker of Knowledge Archon Quest.

Thankfully, the remainder of the Silent Seeker of Knowledge Archon Quest is a much more straightforward quest. There is, however, a boss fight with a Hydro Abyss Herald to mark the end of the Domain. This boss can be challenging if you’ve not brought a suitable team composition. Cryo, Pyro, and Electro elements are all effective against the Hydro Abyss Herald boss, and Hydro enemies in general.
