The Genshin Impact Version 2.0 update was released not too long ago, opening the borders of the electric land of Inazuma and introducing players to a surplus of new content. Kamisato Ayaka was featured in Inazuma’s first-ever character banner, leaving us in awe with her graceful elegance and powerful Cryo abilities. In our Genshin Impact Yoimiya guide, you can find out about the latest character.

Yomiya was present in the Genshin Impact Version 2.0 Update Trailer and had an impactful role on the Traveler’s first few hours in Inazuma. The exuberant archer is the current owner of the Naganohara Fireworks shop, which is located in Hanamizaka. She’s a passionate Pyro wielder who cleverly evades the oppressive Vision Hunt Decree along with the rest of the resistance, including Kamisato Ayaka herself.

We received a sneak peek on Yoimiya’s kit when we had the ability to play her in Inazuma’s Archon quests, but with her upcoming release, you can prepare on how to build the cheerful Yoimiya in TechRaptor’s official guide.

Genshin Impact Yoimiya Guide - Team Role

Pyro characters are exceptionally powerful in Genshin Impact, and Yoimiya will be no exception, assuming you can build her correctly. Yoimiya’s kit invokes her ability to do damage while she is on the field, while also buffing allies and debuffing enemies on her way out.

This ultimately places her in a position as a Sub-DPS. This means she fits into the role that other Pyro-based Sub-DPS characters do, like Bennett and Xiangling. This isn’t to say that the Firework-adoring Yoimiya won’t fit as a Main-DPS character; her damage output will most definitely warrant a position as your general auto-attacker. But to capitalize on Yoimiya’s true potential, building her as a Sub-DPS to a powerful Main-DPs would work best.

Yoimiya’s Talents

Yoimiya’s talents, which players were able to utilize during her trial in the Archon quest of Inazuma, further push the idea of her being a Sub-Dps.

Yoimiya’s Attack: Firework Flare-Up

She performs five consecutive attacks, firing five arrow shots from her bow. The Charged Attack has two charge levels. As Yoimiya nocks her arrows, they generate three Kindling Arrows.

The Kindling Arrows will deal increased Pyro Damage and hone in on enemies. This second charge level is similar to Ganyu’s.

Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill: Niwabi Fire Dance

Yoimiya surrounds herself with saltpeter, enhancing her Normal Attacks with Pyro. This grants Yoimiya the Niwabi Enshou status, which generates Blazing Arrows. Blazing Arrows do additional Pyro Damage.

While the Niwabi Enshou status is active, Yoimiya will not be able to charge her bow for Kindling Arrows. She also acquires the Tricks of the Trouble Maker passive, which increases Pyro damage by 2%. This stacks up to 10 times.

Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst: Ryukin Saxifrage

Yoimiya leaps into the sky and shoots a flurry of fireworks at enemies below, dealing AoE Pyro Damage and debuffing a single enemy with an Auros Blaze. The Auros Blaze will remain on an enemy until it disappears after ten seconds or after the enemy dies, in which it attaches itself to another.

Any time an ally on your team damages the enemy that is marked by the Auros Blaze, an explosion will occur. This explosion can occur every two seconds and make Yoimiya’s Elemental Burst a great contributor to her role as a Sub-DPS.

When using the Ryukin Saxifrage Elemental Burst, Yoimiya activates the Summer Night’s Dawn passive, which increases the attack of her allies by 10%. Additionally, each stack from the Tricks of the Trouble Maker passive increases her attack by 1%. Using Niwabi Fire Dance to garner stacks of Yoimiya’s Tricks of the Trouble Maker before using her Elemental Burst will be the best way to maximize damage output.

Genshin Impact Yoimiya Guide - Yoimiya's Best Artifact Sets

When building Yoimiya’s Artifacts, you must decide whether you want to utilize her as a Main or Sub-DPS. These two roles for Yoimiya call for entirely different Artifact Sets as well as weapons. Yoimiya scales in Critical Rate, which means you can largely focus on Critical Damage if you’re building her as a Main-DPS. Atk% will also be important for both Main and Sub-DPS builds. If you’re focusing Sub-DPS, Elemental Recharge will be crucial to have Yoimiya activating her Elemental Burst often, which buffs her allies.

These three sets are good to focus on for building Yoimiya.

Shimenawa’s Reminiscence

  • A new set exclusive to the Inazuma region. Two pieces of this set grant an 18% boost in Attack Power, while the four-piece bonus is peculiar. When casting an Elemental Skill, 15 Energy will be drained from the character, but their Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG is increased by 50%.
  • These Artifact pieces can be collected in the Momiji-Dyed Court Domain, which is located in Inazuma.
  • This set will fit well into a Main-DPS Yoimiya, as it prioritizes her overall damage over her Elemental Burst, which boosts the whole team.

Crimson Witch of Flames

  • A set commonly used on Pyro characters. The two-piece set bonus is a 15% boost to Pyro Damage. The four-piece set bonus increases Elemental Reactions: Overload and Burning damage increase by 40%, while Vaporize and Melt damage increase by 15%. Additionally, Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill usage will increase the original bonus from the two-piece set, increasing Pyro damage even further.
  • These Artifact pieces can be collected in the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula Domain, which is located in Liyue.
  • Like Shimenawa’s Reminiscence, the Crimson Witch of Flames set will fit well on a Main-DPS Yoimiya. Alternatively, Sub-DPS could run this set, provided you have teammates that will contribute Elemental Reactions, capitalizing on the four-piece set bonus.

Noblesse Oblige

  • A set commonly used on Support and Sub-DPS characters. The two-piece set bonus is a 20% boost to Elemental Burst DMG. The four-piece set bonus is a 20% ATK boost bonus to all teammates, which is granted when the Artifact holder uses their Elemental Burst.
  • These Artifact pieces can be collected in the Clear Pool and Mountain Cavern Domain, which is located in Liyue.
  • Noblesse Oblige is the go-to set for any Sub-DPS/Support character, as the bonuses to Elemental Burst and ATK DMG are hard to give up. For Yoimiya, this set works for popping her Elemental Burst and switching to another Main DPS for the four-piece bonus of an ATK boost.

Genshin Impact Yoimiya guide - Yoimiya’s Best Weapons

With all of the weapons available in Genshin Impact, it can be difficult to figure out which one works best for a character. With Yoimiya, focusing on boosting her Normal Attack DMG is the best way to maximize her weapon usage. Fortunately, many weapons can do this for Yoimiya.

Thundering Pulse

  • The Thundering Pulse is an upcoming 5-Star Bow coming alongside Yoimiya.
  • Thundering Pulse increases ATK by 20% while also granting a Thunder Emblem. The Thunder Emblem can be stacked up to three times, with each stack increasing Normal Attack DMG by 12%, 24%, and 40%. Stacks of the Thunder Emblem are obtained when Yomiya does DMG with her Normal Attack and Elemental Skill.
  • The Thunder Emblem disappears when Yoimiya’s Energy is full, so using her Elemental Burst quickly is vital to maintain a large DMG output. It can be obtained in the weapon banner.

Rust

  • Rust is a 4-Star Bow that can be obtained while wishing.
  • Rust increases Normal Attack DMG by 40%. On the downside, it decreases Aimed Shot DMG by 10%.
  • The tradeoff of less Aimed Shot DMG for a boost in Normal Attack DMG works perfectly on Yoimiya, as you should be focusing on doing Normal Attack DMG since Yoimiya’s Elemental Skill enhances her Normal Attacks with Pyro.

Hamayumi

  • Hamayumi is a 4-Star Bow that was included in the Inazuma update. It can be obtained in Takashi’s questline.
  • Hamayumi increases Normal Attack DMG by 16% and Charged Attack DMG by 12%. It also enhances the effect by 100% when the user’s Energy is full, ultimately providing 32% Normal Attack DMG boosts and 24% Charged Attack DMG boosts.
  • While not as powerful as Thundering Pulse, Hamayumi is still a substantial option for Yoimiya. The bonuses of Normal Attack boosts fit her and the weapon is available to everyone. On top of that, since it's easily obtainable, refining the weapon to further enhance its boosts is also an option.

Genshin Impact Yoimiya Guide - Yoimiya's Best Team Composition

As Yoimiya best fits in a Sub-DPS role, it's important to make sure her teammates are all synergizing together in order to maximize damage output. Yoimiya will constantly be inflicting enemies with a Pyro status due to her Elemental Skill, which infuses her weapon with Pyro. As such, it is good to have another teammate who can take advantage of the Pyro infusion. Hydro teammates for Vaporize and Electro teammates for Overload are good contenders.

Bringing a Hydro and/or Electro teammate will help Yoimiya to additional damage, but it's good not to forget an extra Pyro teammate for Elemental Resonance. Having two Pyro characters in the party increases ATK by 25% due to Fervent Flames.

A team for Yoimiya could look like this:

  • Keqing (Electro Main DPS)
  • Yoimiya (Pyro Main DPS)
  • Xinqiu (Hydro Utility)
  • Bennett (Pyro Support)

This team is good for Yoimiya because it provides a Main DPS that can cause Elemental Reactions of Electro. Xinqiu is also a good teammate because of his Elemental Reactions with Hydro. Bennett is the ideal Pyro teammate because he provides both healing and ATK bonuses.

Keqing can easily be substituted for another Electro user. Free-to-play players all have access to Lisa, but Razor is another good option for a Main-DPS as well. Barbara fits as a Hydro user who can heal and provide Elemental Reactions. Alternatively to Bennett, players can opt for a Pyro Main DPS like Hu Tao or the free-to-play Amber in order to snag the Fervent Flames bonus.
As a Sub-DPS, Yoimiya will be a powerful addition to any team in Genshin Impact that relies on ATK bonuses. Pairing Yoimiya with other characters who grant bonuses to the Main-DPS will help her output an immense amount of damage. Building Yoimiya with the perfect weapons and Artifacts will only add more to said damage. Start saving your Primogems and get to grinding!
