Genshin Impact’s 3.0 update has just landed on all platforms, bringing with it the home of the Dendro Archon and a whole new storyline, alongside new characters and weapons to collect. If you’re raring to get started with the new story or explore this dense forest environment packed with puzzles, you’re probably wondering how to get to the lush new forest zone, Sumeru. You’re in luck because, unlike Inazuma, Sumeru can be reached even without being completely caught up on the Archon Questline. Here's a walkthrough of how to get to Sumeru in Genshin 3.0!

How to get to Sumeru in Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact’s new region, Sumeru, is located to the west, sharing a long border with the Liyue region. There are many entrances into the Sumeru region, including flying directly over the large cliffs of The Chasm, but the best way to enter Sumeru is to head to the Teleport Waypoint to the west of The Chasm by the Cinnabar Cliffs.
From here, you’ll see a dark tunnel entrance cut into the cliffside. As you walk through the tunnel you will see the environment gradually shifting from the mine-themed environment of The Chasm to the more lush and richly vegetated Sumeru style. There’s even a Seelie that will guide you through the tunnel.

When you emerge on the other side of the tunnel you will be in the new region, Sumeru. Immediately upon leaving the tunnel will be this region's equivalent of Inazuma’s Electrogranums, known as Four-Leaf Sigils. These Four-Leaf Sigils can be used to quickly reach the Statue of the Seven located atop a nearby cliff. Interacting with the Statue of the Seven will unveil the map of this region and can even be used to resonate the Traveler to the newly usable Dendro element.

How to Start ‘Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark’ Archon Quest
While Sumeru is accessible to anyone who can enter The Chasm area, the new Archon Quest ‘Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark’ is a little more restricted. If you’re looking to get started on the new storyline then make sure you are Adventure Rank 35 or higher and have completed the prerequisite quest ‘Requiem of the Echoing Depths’, involving the Traveler venturing into the depths of The Chasm.
If you have met these requirements then the next Archon Quest, ‘Through Mists of Smoke and Forests Dark’, should appear in your quest page. The first sub-quest in this chain is ‘A Forest of Change’ which tasks the player with entering the land of the Dendro Archon, Sumeru. A quest marker is provided although it points to the area near the exit of the tunnel from The Chasm to Sumeru detailed above, rather than the entrance. This means the player will still have to navigate to Sumeru themselves, either through the convenient tunnel entrance in the Cinnabar Cliffs, one of the many other tunnels located along the western border, or climbing over the mountains and gliding down into this area.
That's it - you should be able to get into Sumeru now! If you're looking for more Genshin guides, check out below:
