HoYoverse has revealed the Genshin Impact version 3.8 release date, as well as giving us a glimpse into what we can expect from the update. Titled "Secret Summer Paradise", the next major content injection for Genshin arrives on July 5th, bringing a new summery area to enjoy, as well as new outfits and more content for the Genius Invokation card game.
After Genshin Impact version 3.7 focused hard on Genius Invokation, 3.8 is bringing some more traditional adventuring activities to enjoy, albeit with a more light-hearted slant. The new Veluriyam Mirage area will contain lots of open-world activities, treasure-hunting opportunities, and minigames, including a water cannon shooting game and extra combat challenges.
As you explore the area, you'll get the chance to recruit the Cryo sword user Layla for free, and you'll also be able to earn Joyeux Vouchers, which can be redeemed for various rewards including a new outfit for Kaeya. The first half of the update will see Klee and Eula reruns appearing in Event Wishes, while Sangonomiya Kokomi and Wanderer are the focus of the second half. Kaeya is also getting a Hangout Event, so you can spend a little more time with him.
The Genius Invokation card game gets new content in this update, too. This will include a major PvE mode, "The Forge Realm's Temper: Endless Swarm", in which you'll battle endless hordes of enemies within a limited time frame. New character cards are also coming, so you might want to start thinking about expanding your deck.
As part of the Genshin Impact version 3.8 special program, we also got a look at the upcoming Fontaine region, which HoYoverse also teased in the version 3.7 release trailer. This new footage showcased views both above and beneath the water, as well as some of the unique creatures you'll meet in Fontaine. It's shaping up to be another essential addition to the Genshin Impact universe.
