The wait is over: Hogwarts Legacy is finally available on PS4 and Xbox One, with just the Nintendo Switch version still to come. That's not all that's new in the Wizarding World, though, as a new update for the game has also landed, giving you the option to make spiders less creepy and fixing plenty of bugs besides.

Last-gen platforms have been waiting for Hogwarts Legacy for quite a while, but PS4 and Xbox One owners can finally check the game out today. The latest update, however, is only for current-gen platforms right now, and it's not entirely clear whether it's already been fully integrated into the PS4 or Xbox One versions or whether it's yet to come for those consoles.

In any case, the update is quite an extensive one. The main new addition is an Arachnophobia Mode, which changes the appearance of all spider enemies and reduces a lot of the more harrowing arachnid noises and effects. Spider images within the game's Field Guide will stay the same, though, so don't check that if you don't want a spider scare.

As well as the Arachnophobia Mode, the update also adds support for the Professor Ronen cosmetic gear Twitch drops and fixes a number of miscellaneous issues. These include a problem with the Helm of Urtkot quest, some aesthetic changes for robes, and "multiple issues" that could have caused players to clip through world geometry. Hey, they are supposed to be magic users, right?

Make sure to give the Hogwarts Legacy patch notes for today a thorough read, as there are over 500 bug fixes, and the problem you're experiencing could well be among them. These bugs haven't stopped the game from an incredibly impressive sales performance; Warner Bros has revealed that Hogwarts Legacy has sold over 15 million copies worldwide, grossing $1 billion in sales in less than three months.

Hogwarts Legacy is available right now on PC, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox platforms, and it's due to land on Nintendo Switch on July 25th.
