Hogwarts Legacy is filled to the brim with puzzles, difficult quests, and some encounters that will leave you scratching your head. The Cursed Tomb Treasure quest is one quest that can become quite confusing. There is a map associated with the quest that takes a bit of brain power to decipher. In this Hogwarts Legacy Cursed Tomb Treasure quest guide, we will discuss where to find the quest, how to complete it, and how to solve the floor puzzle during the quest.

There are a few prerequisites that must be met to start the questline; They are as follows:

  • Alohomora Level III - This can be acquired by completing the "Man Behind The Moons" quests to find the Demiguise statues around the map.
  • Must be at least level 23
  • Must have the Flipendo spell
  • Must have completed the Main Story Quest "Helm of Urtkot"

How To Start The Cursed Tomb Treasure Quest in Hogwarts Legacy

To begin the quest, you will first need to head to Manor Cape which can be found at the far southern end of the World Map. If you do not already have that part of the map opened up, you will not see the side quest on the map until you reveal that area. There is a Floo Flame called West Manor Cape which is located on the western side of the Manor Cape area on the map and is the easiest starting point to use to locate the quest area.  If you do not have this Floo Flame unlocked already, simply fast-travel to the closest one, set your waypoint to this West Manor Cape Floo Flame, and fly there either on your broom or flying mount.

Once there, you will need to run out of the house where the Floo Flame is located, follow the pathway leading up the mountain, or fly to this area using your broom or flying mount:

Once you are at this location, head into the doorway and down a small set of steps into the Manor itself. There is also an Ancient Magic Hotspot located inside this manor, which you can use as a reference point on the map to enter the correct area. From here, walk down another set of stairs to the left of the doorway you came in from where you will come across a Level 3 Locked Door. Using the Alohomora Level III spell, you can unlock this door to enter the area where the chest to start the quest is located. You will also run into several Inferi in this area, so be sure to use Fire Spells to kill them quickly and make your way further into the cellar.

You will find the locked chest at the far back of the cellar inside the manor which is known as Manor Glen. Once unlock and open the chest, you will receive the treasure map in your inventory to reference if need be. The objective will change to "Use the Mysterious Map Fragment to find the treasure."

To the far back of the room where the chest was located, there will be a brazier on the altar where a statue is located. Light it using a Fire Spell and the altar area will flip around. Jump on top of the altar and stand on the small circle on the inside. This will then rotate you to the other side of the wall to begin the treasure hunt.

The Mysterious Map Fragment leads you to a place called The Tomb of Trechory which can be found in the Poidsear Coast area. There is a Floo Flame here, so if you have already unlocked it, it will be a pretty quick journey. If not, set the Tomb of Trechory Floo Flame as your waypoint on the World Map and fly there.

Once you are here, you will enter the Tomb of Trechory directly in front of the Floo Flame. Once inside, you are going to follow the pathway straight ahead (do not turn into any of the rooms), where you will come to an open room with an open stone coffin inside of it. Once inside this room, make an immediate left into the next room. You will see a spider web blocking your pathway; use a Fire Spell to knock it down and enter to the next room.

Keep running straight ahead until you reach a room with a Butterfly Puzzle Door. There will be a few spiders to defeat inside the room before you can open the door, but using fire spells will kill them pretty quickly. You will need to use a Fire Spell to burn the spider web down to the left of the Butterfly Puzzle door to get one of the butterflies that you will lead to the puzzle door using the Lumos spell. Cast Lumos while standing near the butterfly to draw it to your wand, then run back to the puzzle door and uncast Lumos (it will automatically fly onto a spot in the door puzzle if you are standing close enough to the butterfly door).

To the right side of the Butterfly Puzzle door, another room houses the two final butterflies to open the door. You will need to use Lumos again to draw the first one to the door. Go back into that same room and use a Fire Spell on the spider web to the left side of the room to get the final butterfly. Use Lumos again near this one and bring it to the door. The door will then open, revealing another room for you to enter.

This room has a puzzle on the ground for you to solve. If you refer to the map, it will have three plates (or rocks) on the ground marked for you to cast Flipendo on. These are the three plates (or rocks) to cast the spell on:

Make sure all of the arrows on the plates (or rocks) are pointing upwards just like the treasure map shows (if you are standing at the correct angle, they will be pointing up). You do not have to hit the plates in any certain order, so feel free to cast it on any of the three circled in any order you so choose, but only use Flipendo on these three circled above.

Loot the chest in the middle that appears once the floor puzzle is solved, which gave us 400 gold and an outfit, and the quest will complete automatically!
