Stunlock Studios has confirmed that the next major upcoming V Rising update will be the game's long-awaited 1.0 release. According to the studio, this update will require "a similar development timeframe" to the recent Secrets of Gloomrot update, and it also won't mean the end of ongoing development for V Rising.
In its latest dev diary, Stunlock says that it's "aiming to make the next update V Rising's full release, THE BIG 1.0". The studio says this release will involve making existing systems more engaging, exploring new features, and adding extra content. The 1.0 release will also bring a "satisfying conclusion" to the PvE side of V Rising while also "polishing the wicked, tortured hell" out of everything that's currently in the game.
It's going to be a while until we hear from Stunlock again regarding V Rising's 1.0 release, it seems. The developer says it's going to "take a break from reporting from the crypt" while it works on the 1.0 release, but that more updates will be on the way as soon as there's more to share.
The latest V Rising dev diary also contains some fun insights regarding player behavior, drawn from survey results and server stats. According to Stunlock's data, 63% of V Rising's survey respondents haven't played any of Stunlock's other games, and 44% of players haven't engaged in any PvP whatsoever. 28% of devious players also admitted that they would wait until a raid's defender is vulnerable before trying to steal loot.
V Rising is available on PC right now via Steam Early Access, where it'll cost you $19.99. The game's 1.0 release is likely to arrive sometime in 2024, although we don't know exactly when just yet.
