Can You Play V Rising Solo?

Yes, you can play V Rising solo -- although it might not be as easy as you'd expect.

As with many action RPGs, V Rising scales its combat based on the number of players in battle. Fighting a boss alone is a vastly different experience than fighting it with one or more friends. However, playing by yourself also means you lack a safety net; if you die, you won't have anyone to rescue you unless a passerby happens to rescue you. A solo player must be extraordinarily cautious if they want to survive.

How to Play V Rising Solo in PVE

If you want to play V Rising solo in PVE, you're going to have to consider some important points. First and foremost, you should try to avoid taking big risks; if you die, you won't have anyone to revive you and your gear will suffer durability damage.

Secondly, you're going to need to secure a spot for your Castle Heart and get it locked down as soon as possible. Building locations are first-come, first-serve, and a group of players working together can completely cut off a hill by blocking the entrances while working together. Fortunately, some locations can easily be controlled by one player if they set their territory up correctly.

Finally, you will have to be especially careful when fighting bosses. Fighting a boss one-on-one is tough enough, but you must be mindful of the potential for other players to kite enemies (or other bosses) into the middle of your fight (whether intentionally or otherwise). If you're going to fight a boss, make sure to lure it away from areas filled with NPCs and/or players if possible -- and make sure to watch your back, too.

How to Play V Rising Solo in PVP

The V Rising solo experience in PVP can be an extreme challenge; it all depends on the server. If a server allows clans, you could potentially end up in a 1 vs. 4 fight.

Your Castle Heart will be your most important asset. You're going to want to build it far away from civilization to prevent anyone from sieging it -- they will be able to easily overwhelm you through sheer numbers.

As for combat, there's only one real solution: ambush tactics. You can win a fair 1v1 fight, but 1v2 is harder and 1v4 is all but impossible. Pick your battles carefully and you can truly become a terror in the night by racking up kills left and right.
