Stunlock Studios and Konami have announced a V Rising Castlevania crossover, bringing a legendary vampire hunter to the open-world survival game.
Per an official announcement, this crossover, which launches on May 8th, will pit you against Simon Belmont himself, so you'll get a chance to test your vampiric skills against one of the most fearsome vampire slayers the world has ever known.
Simon will, of course, have access to the iconic Vampire Killer whip, and he'll also be packing "an infamous arsenal of holy weaponry", likely including Castlevania signature weapons like the cross and the holy water.
If you defeat Simon, you'll unlock a new weapon in the form of the whip, allowing you to learn some of the ancient techniques handed down through the Belmont clan.
It's not just Simon, either. A new premium DLC pack, the Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack, will bring new castle decorations and character customization options based on Konami's vampire-hunting franchise, as well as a new mount.
It'll also bring two new pieces of music, both of which are "reimagined" versions of Castlevania themes reworked by V Rising composer Aleksandria Migova.
Taking on Simon Belmont and obtaining the whip will be free, but the aforementioned DLC pack will be paid content. You can check out the brief teaser trailer for this rather exciting crossover right here.
If you're unfamiliar with V Rising, it's an open-world survival game in which you play as a vampire. You must build and maintain a castle, protect it from threats, and venture out into the wilderness to gather resources and build your vampire legend.
Since its launch in Early Access in 2022, V Rising has met with significant success, reaching more than three million copies sold. It's also received a number of updates, some of which constitute major content expansions.
V Rising is scheduled to launch in full for PC on May 8th (which is also when the Castlevania crossover is coming). No PS5 release date has been revealed yet, but the game is due to hit Sony's console sometime this year.
