V Rising Silverlight Hills Bosses Guide - Mairwyn the Elementalist (Level 64)

Where to Find Mairwyn the Elementalist

Mairwyn the Elementalist can be found on top of the hill in Emberleaf Grove in the southeastern area of Silverlight Hills.

What Do You Get for Beating Mairwyn the Elementalist

  • Basic Ability (Frost) - Crystal Lance
  • Recipe - Imperial Thread

How to Beat Mairwyn the Elementalist

Mairwyn the Elemental starts off with only two attacks.

  • Mairwyn fires a sequence of three ice bolts, any of which will slow you down with the Chill debuff if they connect.
  • Mairwyn fires off a larger ice bolt which afflicts you with the Freeze debuff and shatters into a shotgun blast of ice bolts behind you.

The second half of the fight is much tougher.

  • Mairwyn will spawn balls of electrical energy which fly at you from different directions. You'll get stunned for a short time if you're hit by one.
  • Mairwyn summons a portal that spits out fire bolts in a rotating circle.
  • Mairwyn will create a clone and will attack together with it using balls of electrical energy that will stun you on impact. She will also use the regular skills in her repertoire.
  • The clone's attacks can do damage and debuff you.
  • The clone does not time out; the only way to remove it is to kill it.
  • Mairwyn can and will summon additional clones, one at a time, if you do not kill the first one.
  • Mairwyn freezes herself and greatly reduces incoming damage while a ball of fire roams around the arena, shooting fire bolts at you. The ball itself cannot harm you, but the bolts can.

Recommended Gear & Skills for Mairwyn the Elementalist

Mairwyn the Elementalist is a surprisingly low level for the area you're fighting her in and her attacks are somewhat predictable, so you may be able to skirt by with Merciless Hollowfang armor and Merciless Iron weapons. That said, upgrading to Dawnthorn armor and Darksilver weapons may be a good idea if you can afford to do it.

She's not terribly strong in melee and prefers to attack from range, so you may be able to rush her down if you can tank her damage. That said, equipping any spells that shield you or purge debuffs may help reduce any damage you take.

How to Beat Mairwyn the Elementalist Solo

Most of Mairwyn's attacks will inflict some kind of debuff (Stun, Chilled, Freeze, burning), so you're going to want to focus on avoiding them as much as you can.

You'll also need to put a much higher priority on eliminating her clones. If she spawns a third clone, retreat -- the battle has already gotten out of control and it's best to allow her to reset so you can start the fight over.

V Rising Silverlight Hills Bosses Guide - Azariel the Sunbringer slice

V Rising Silverlight Hills Bosses Guide - Azariel the Sunbringer (Level 68)

Where to Find Azariel the Sunbringer

Azariel the Sunbringer can be found within Brighthaven Cathedral on the western side of Silverlight Hills. More specifically, Brighthaven Cathedral is in the northwestern part of Brighthaven.

Traveling through Brighthaven is an especially challenging task. You'll face many dangerous and high-level human enemies; simply reaching Azariel will be difficult. Your best bet is to enter Brighthaven from the north.

What Do You Get for Beating Azariel the Sunbringer

  • Basic Ability (Chaos) - Power Surge
  • Recipe - Gold Ingot

How to Beat Azariel the Sunbringer

First and foremost, Brighthaven Cathedral is protected by Heavy Holy Radiation. You will need a Holy Resistance Flask (not a Holy Resistance Potion) to block the Holy damage; trying to start this fight without it is tantamount to suicide.

Azariel has adds, but you can reduce a lot of the potential damage by killing the Villagers at the start of the battle (and ideally before it starts); if you don't, Azariel can transform them into powerful warriors.

Additionally, there are two pillars on the wall to the left and right of Azariel which will fire out waves of Holy bolts if you get near them. Stay far away from them or you'll have to dodge some extra projectiles.

Azariel has two main attacks for the first half of the fight:

  • Azariel fires a large, slow-moving ball of Holy energy. Once it hits something (either a wall or a player), it will rapidly expand and explode.
  • Azariel fires alternating waves of Holy bolts.

These are fairly easy to dodge. Things really pick up once he falls below half health:

  • Azariel will call down falling bolts of holy energy directly on top of him, healing him slightly and causing damage around him
  • Azariel will convert one of the Villagers near him into a warrior with a shield who will fire Holy Bolts at you
  • Azariel will summon a Militia Light which will come towards you while constantly emitting bursts of Holy energy.

Defeating Azariel is largely about dodging damage. Stay near the center of the church, avoiding walls and especially avoiding the two pillars on the sides. If you can manage that (and you've had the sense to kill all of the Villagers before you start the fight), you can win.

Recommended Gear & Skills for Azariel the Sunbringer

Azariel is a tough cookie, so you're going to want Dawnthorn Armor and Dark Silver weapons for this fight. Additionally, a Holy Flask is a necessity -- you can unlock that by defeating Willfred the Werewolf Chief.

Defensive Skills may be helpful here, but your best bet for defeating Azariel may be to simply shoot him to death as fast as possible. Dodging his attacks isn't all that difficult, so save your Skill slots for damage-dealing Skills.

How to Beat Azariel the Sunbringer Solo

Azariel the Sunbringer may actually be easier to fight solo than in a group -- you'll have a reduced chance of someone accidentally activating the Holy pillars on either side of the church. Make absolutely certain that you kill every single Villager before the battle starts. Outside of that, all you need to do is dodge his projectiles and do damage where you can.

V Rising Silverlight Hills Bosses Guide - Morian the Stormwing Matriach slice

V Rising Silverlight Hills Bosses Guide - Morian the Stormwing Matriarch (Level 68)

Where to Find Morian the Stormwing Matriarch

You can find Morian the Stormwing Matriarch in the southern Harpy Nest in Silverlight Hills. She's at the top of the eastern hill within the Harpy Nest. Naturally, you'll have to fight quite a few Harpies to even get there.

What Do You Get for Beating Morian the Stormwing Matriarch

  • Basic Ability (Chaos) - Void
  • Recipe - Flawless Gems

How to Beat Morian the Stormwing Matriarch

Morian the Stormwing Matriarch begins the fight flanked by two Harpy Dashers; eliminate these mobs right away so you can focus on fighting her.

Morian has three attacks in the first half of the fight:

  • Morian will slash you with both wings.
  • Morian will uppercut you, knocking you back and into the air.
  • Morian will charge at you in a straight line.

As expected, she'll get some new abilities when her health gets below half:

  • Morian will fly into the air and summon 2 additional Harpy Dashers and a Harpy Sorceress. She won't land for a short time.
  • Morian will fire a burst of three Chaos bolts.
  • Morian will summon a ball of exploding Chaos energy which will subsequently cause several smaller explosions.

The additional Harpies she summons can be a boon -- you can feed on them and restore your blood. If you don't need Blood, though, you should kill them.

As fights go, Morian isn't all that tough compared to some of the other bosses in this area. You should be able to take her down without too much effort as long as you don't get hit by too many of her attacks.

Recommended Gear & Skills for Morian the Stormwing Matriarch

As with other bosses in this area, Dawnthorn armor and Dark Silver weapons are a must. You may want to bring some Defensive skills to block her AOE attacks, but you can probably manage to simply dodge those instead -- if you're confident in your dodging skills, bring two offensive Skills with you.

How to Beat Morian the Stormwing Matriarch Solo

Morian the Matriach is fairly mobile and has a few decent ranged attacks in the second half of her fight. Therefore, it might be best to fight her from range if you're not confident in being able to tank her damage or dodge her more powerful ranged attacks. If you think you can take her, though, you can whack her with melee hits a few times, back away to dodge, and then dive back in to attack in melee again.
