Microsoft has announced the games coming as part of the Xbox Game Pass September 2023 Wave 1 lineup, and hey, who'd have thunk? It ain't just Starfield.
Obviously, Bethesda's long-awaited space RPG will likely take the lion's share of Game Pass players in the first part of September, but two more games are heading to the service by September 19th as well.
First up, Starfield launches for Game Pass on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and cloud tomorrow. Make sure to download the StarUI mod if you want to fix Bethesda's dodgy UI design.
If you want to take a break from Starfield, or if you're not a big Bethesda RPG fan, then on September 14th, you can also check out Solar Ash, which comes from the creators of Hyper Light Drifter. It's on PC, console, and cloud.
I wasn't particularly enamored with the game when I reviewed it back in December 2021, but a Game Pass release and some good old-fashioned Starfield counterprogramming might make you feel differently.
Last but not least, it's the Bloodborne-esque Soulslike Lies of P, which comes to Xbox Game Pass on September 19th. This one is also on PC, console, and cloud.
Set in the Belle Epoque city of Krat, Lies of P skews the classic story of Pinocchio and turns it into an excursion into puppet-infested hell. This'll give you the chance to check the game out ahead of its upcoming Wo Long collab, too.
Here's a quick (very quick, in fact) recap of what's coming to Xbox Game Pass in the first part of September.
- Starfield (September 6th - PC, Xbox Series X|S, cloud)
- Solar Ash (September 14th - PC, console, cloud)
- Lies of P (September 19th - PC, console, cloud)
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but several games are also leaving Xbox Game Pass soon. Here's everything dropping out of the service on September 15th.
- Amazing Cultivation Simulator
- Aragami 2
- Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony Anniversary Edition
- DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventure of Krypto and Ace
- Fuga: Melodies of Steel
- Metal Hellsinger
- Sid Meier's Civilization 6
- Tainted Grail: Conquest
- Train Sim World 3
Kudos if you manage to tear yourself away from Starfield long enough to check out the other two games!
If not, hey, no shame, but do be sure to have a look at our Starfield guides, which will help give you a headstart by telling you all about some great ships and gear you can nab for yourself, plus lots more.
