Looking to help fill out the Coe Heritage Museum Collection in Starfield? This guide will show you where to find all six Solomon Coe books that are scattered around the systems, as well as the reward you'll get for returning them all to Akila!
One the larger names you'll come across often in Starfield is Solomon Coe, who was one of the earlier settlers, and namely the founder of Akila City. As one would expect, there's a museum in his honor with various trinkets and things from the Coe family - but there's also 6 blank pedestals that need to be filled!
If you talk to Leah Casler, she'll tell you that Jacob Coe (the father of your Starfield companion Sam Coe) sold many of his fathers' books to pay off some debts and she'd love to recover them for the museum.
What are all six Solomon Coe Books?
Thing is...she doesn't know where any of them are, so it's up to you to find all 6 of the Solomon Coe books:
- Governer's First Meeting Agenda
- Solomon Coe's Cheyenne Trip Inventory
- Solomon's Calculations
- List of Early Cheyenne Settlers
- Solomon Coe Copy of Don Quixote
- Original Charter of Akila City
The Locations of Solomon Coe's Books in Starfield
Many of these, you'll find as you make your way through the Freestar Rangers Missions, but there is one that's outside of that. In order of how you'll find them during the course of the missions, here's where to find each book.
Governer's First Meeting Agenda Location
You'll find this first book in the basement of The Lodge, in a bedroom to the left if you go past the area with all the workbenches and directly across the hall from one of the best spacesuits in Starfield. I almost missed this one, it's pretty well hidden!
Returning this to Leah nets you 150XP and 5,000 Credits.
Solomon Coe's Cheyenne Trip Inventory Location
You'll find this book the first time you head to HopeTown to meet Ron Hope, directly on his desk. You'll have to steal it, which if you don't have a suit that can camouflage you, your best bet is to wait until the end of the Freestar Rangers quest to steal it when Ron's office is empty. I was able to waltz in and walk away with it, no problems at all!
Returning this to Leah nets you 150XP and 5,000 Credits.
Solomon's Calculations
You'll find Solomon's Calculations in Neon, purchaseable at a shop called "The Emporium" for 2400 Credits without any buying bonuses.
Returning this to Leah nets you 150XP and 5,000 Credits.
List of Early Cheyenne Settlers
After heading to The Red Mile for a quest for the Freestar Rangers, you'll enter a bar area to talk to another Ranger who will help you get a meeting with a man named Marco. When you enter the bar area, there's a table straight ahead and to your left that has this book sitting on top - ripe for the taking!
Returning this to Leah nets you 150XP and 5,000 Credits.
Solomon Coe Copy of Don Quixote
Towards the tail end of the Freestar Rangers missions you'll get one called "On The Run" which will have you meeting a man named Marco. You'll find this book, as seen in the image above, behind his desk. If you already did this mission and can't remember where the ship is, it's in the Cheyenne Star system on the planet Codos - landing spot is the Fortuna.
I passed this book about 50x, so shoutout to /u/SicklyHeartChild for finding it!
Returning this to Leah nets you 150XP and 5,000 Credits.
Original Charter of Akila City
This is one that you'll only get if you do the side mission "Lair of the Mantis" which will net you a sweet spacesuit and a free ship that's fairly powerful early in the game! Once you complete the maze, and get to the Mantis Spacesuit, continue on and you'll see a hexagonal Science Chest, which has this book inside.
Returning this to Leah nets you 150XP and 5,000 Credits.
Reward for Returning Every Solomon Coe Book
Beyond the rewards you get for returning each book to Leah, you'll get a little bit more for completing the entire set for the Coe Heritage Mission.
Once you complete the set, Leah will thank you and explain how she never thought this was possible and then give you one last reward - 200XP and 6,500 credits, bringing the full reward for this to:
- 950 XP, and 36,500 Credits
I wish it had been some sweet gear, but this is a relatively easy one to complete and worthwhile as you do New Game Plus and work towards 100% Starfield Achievement Completion!
