The Icarus Influx: Construction Prospect mission isn't too difficult in terms of building -- but actually getting to the location can be a challenge.

Here's what you'll need unlocked for this mission:

Additionally, it is helpful (but not required) to have the Fur Armor set and Textiles Bench unlocked so you can stay a bit warmer in the cold.

The Icarus Influx: Construction Prospect mission can be completed pretty quickly if you're efficient -- and if you're lucky.

Setting Up

As usual, craft the following items ASAP after you land:

• Stone Pickaxe
• Stone Axe
• Wood Spear
• Wood Bow
• Stone Arrows
• Stone Knife

Next, you have two choices for your route. If you consult the above map, you'll see that heading southwest is the only sensible option -- you really don't want to go around the long way.

As you approach the border of the Forest and Arctic biomes, you'll find a strange cliff with a flat wall -- this is one of the many secret caves in the game.

Whip out your pickaxe and make a small hole as seen above. Be careful when you actually head in, though -- there are deadly Cave Worms inside. Kill them with one or two headshots apiece and stay behind cover so you don't get hit with their poison.

A quick note on Cave Worms -- as far as I can tell, they will only respawn once you log back into the game. Try to avoid logging out in the cave.

Once the cave is clear, you have two options -- you can build inside of the cave or build near it. Either way, you're going to be spending a good few minutes in there mining as you're going to need a lot of Iron (and a bit of Copper) for this construction project.

Start gathering materials. Your ultimate goal is to build a base with the following items inside.

• Campfire
• Bedroll
• Crafting Bench
• Stone Furnace (ideally 2)
• Anvil Bench

Now that that's all set up, you need to ramp up your Iron production for your objective. (You will, of course, need some Stone, Wood, Fiber, Leather, and Fur, as well). Craft and gather the following items:

• 6 Wood Floors
• 10 Wood Walls
• 4 Wood Wall Angled
• 6 Wood Roof/Ramp
• 1 Wood Door
• 1 Campfire
• 6 Bedrolls
• 1 Cooking Station
• 1 Oxidizer
• 1 Potbelly Stove
• 50 Wood

Reach the Marked Location

It's time to get moving! Make certain that your spawn point is set, then get moving.

Bear in mind: Polar Bears are going to be your biggest threat. They are difficult to take down without a firearm; they have thousands of health and a headshot from a Longbow with a Bone Arrow only does around 300 damage. They are best avoided. Odds are, you will encounter 2-4 along the way -- and it's possible that one of them may have strayed into the Forest, too.

Once you actually reach the location, you may have to walk around the area a bit to get the objective to actually trigger. After that, you can begin construction.

Set Up Barracks

Your next objective is to use all of those building pieces you brought with you to construct a building. Build a 2x3 floor, erect walls, and then place down all of the objects as seen in the image above. (I've removed the walls so you can see inside; make sure your version of the building is properly closed up.)

Do note that one of the objectives is that the beds must be "warm and sheltered". If the objective doesn't trigger, place and light the Campfire to warm up the Barracks and see if that helps. If you've done everything right, you'll complete the mission.

Return Home

All that's left to do is return to the Dropship! Carefully make your way back through the Arctic, doing your best to avoid Polar Bears along the way. Get back to your Dropship, take off, and you're done!
