The Icarus Pyramid: Construction Prospect mission is a fairly straightforward mission, but it may also be the first time that you're working with metal.

Setting Up

Start off by gathering materials and crafting the following items:

  • Stone Pickaxe
  • Stone Axe
  • Wood Spear
  • Wood Bow
  • Stone Arrows
  • Stone Knife

There's Water at your destination, so don't worry about collecting any. Start heading north. Your destination is the same cave that you drilled through in the Dry Run: Expedition Prospect mission -- except this time it's open.

Once you arrive at the cave, you have two options: set up your base just outside, or set your base up inside the cave as I did.

Building a base in a cave has the advantage of totally protecting you from storms, providing shelter, and reducing the chance of animal encounters (with the exception of Cave Worms, but I didn't see any this time around). The downside, however, is that you can catch pneumonia and will have your Stamina reduced by half.

Either way, build a base and construct the following items in it:

  • Bedroll
  • Campfire
  • Crafting Bench
  • Stone Furnace

Make sure to set your spawn point on the Bedroll!

Next, go into the cave and start gathering Iron. Toss it into the Stone Furnace to make Iron Bars until you have enough to make an Anvil Bench. Once the Anvil Bench is built, you're going to need to make 2 Iron Bars and 50 Copper Nails (which takes 5 Copper Bars).

Continue to gather materials and craft the following items:

  • 6 Wood Wall
  • 2 Wood Wall Angled
  • 2 Wood Floor
  • 1 Wood Door
  • 2 Wood Roof/Ramp
  • Skinning Bench
  • Trophy Bench
  • Textiles Bench
  • Rain Reservoir

Stuff all of these items into your inventory and start heading north towards the construction location.

Reach Construction Location

The construction location is a short walk across the Desert biome. There are likely to be quite a few hostile animals on the Desert side of the cave, but it's also a wide-open area -- a prime opportunity for sniping.

Make your way north, making sure to snipe any Boars, Cougars, or Hyenas that are nearby to avoid any attacks. Cross the river and walk into the blue circle on your map; you'll eventually trigger a prompt that tells you to start construction.

Establish a Hunting Outpost

Believe it or not, that short list of materials you crafted back at your base is everything you need to finish the Icarus Pyramid: Construction Prospect mission. Place the two floor pieces down, erect walls, and put the Wood Wall Angled and roof pieces on. Then, install a door.

Once the building is set up, place the Skinning Bench, Trophy Bench, and Textiles Bench indoors. Then place the Rain Reservoir outside. With all of that done, your objective is complete.

Returning Home

There's no epic journey needed here -- simply walk back the way you came. The only thing you need to be concerned about is Boars, Cougars, and Hyenas in the Desert; as for the Forest side, your only worry is Bears and Wolves. Make it to your Dropship and launch off into space -- you're all done!
