Patch 6.3 of Final Fantasy XIV has introduced a number of new collectables, including a selection of minions. One such minion is the adorable corgi, which is available alongside some corgi-themed accessories. In this guide, we’ll show you how to unlock the Final Fantasy XIV Corgi minion.

The corgi minion is available via the Faux Hollows system in Idyllshire. You can talk to the Faux Commander, and purchase the corgi under the “Others” tab for 400 Faux Leaves. If you don’t already have Faux Hollows unlocked, there are only a few required steps:

  • Complete the Level 60 quest “Keeping Up with the Aliapohs” — Unctuous Adventurer NPC in Idyllshire, X: 7.0, Y: 5.9.
  • Reach Level 80 and complete the quest “Shadowbringers” — the final base quest of the Shadowbringers expansion.
  • Complete the Level 80 quest “Fantastic Mr. Faux” — Painfully Ishgardian Man NPC in Idyllshire, X:7.0, Y:5.9.

From there, the Faux Commander NPC will become available next to Khloe in Idyllshire, along with a new trial in the “High-end Duty” section of the Duty Finder. This duty will end with “(Unreal)” in the name — the Patch 6.3 duty is Containment Bay P1T6 (Unreal), though this changes with every main patch. You can complete this duty twice a week to earn Faux Hollows attempts, where you’ll select squares on a board to uncover symbols, in turn gaining Faux Leaves.

Due to the weekly limit and RNG related to which symbols you can uncover, getting enough Faux Leaves could take anywhere from 2 weeks if you’re incredibly lucky, to 4 weeks or even more. However, even if the Unreal duty changes, the corgi minion will still be available. The only change will be that you’ll have to be a higher level to take on Unreal fights that are released in expansions after Endwalker.

And that’s everything you need to know about getting the corgi minion in Final Fantasy XIV. If you’re looking for somewhere to let your corgi roam around, why not check out our Island Sanctuary guides.
