Final Fantasy XIV Arkasodara Tribal Quests

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker’s first set of Tribal Quests is now available as of Patch 6.15. The Arkasodara Tribal Quests see you helping out a group of Matanga as they start on a new business venture in Thavnair, involving deliveries and some speedy hippos. In our Final Fantasy XIV Arkasodara Tribal Quests Guide, we’ll teach you more about the content’s unlock requirements and the general flow.

Final Fantasy XIV Arkasodara Tribal Quests Unlock Requirements

Before you can start the tribal quests proper, there are a few side quests in Thavnair that must be completed first. These take the form of two quest chains, leading into one final quest once both are done. With the launch of Patch 6.15, all of these quests are also listed with the blue side quest marker on the map.

Required Side Quests

Quest Chain 1

  • Steppe Child - X: 25.6, Y: 36.1 (this quest is also required to unlock flying in Thavnair)
  • The Matanga Along the Way - X: 25.4, Y: 31.2
  • Ogul Repays Her Favors - X:19.0, Y:33.9
  • The Yedlihmad Hunt - X: 25.4, Y: 31.3

Quest Chain 2

  • What's in a Parent - X: 29.2, Y: 15.3
  • Curing What Ails - X: 29.7, Y: 17.2
  • The Sins We Bear - X:29.7, Y:17.2
  • Societal Alchemy - X: 29.8, Y: 16.2

Final Quest - Requires completion of previous quest chains

  • A Budding Adventure - X: 29.7, Y: 17.2

After completing all of these quests, along with the final Patch 6.0 quest “Endwalker”, the quest “Hippos Born to Run” will become available in Thavnair at X: 25.3, Y: 31.2. This quest features no combat and serves as the introduction to the Hippo Riders, a group of Matanga looking for a new purpose. Completing this quest opens up the Arkasodara Tribal Quests, allowing players to gain reputation with the Hippo Riders and earn rewards.

Arkasodara Tribe Daily Quests

Upon unlocking the tribe for the first time, and every day at 7AM PST / 10 AM EST / 3PM GMT after that, a new set of 3 daily quests will become available to take. Each one can be completed on any job ranging from level 80 to 90. Jobs below 90 gain a sizable amount of experience, while level 90 jobs get the current weekly-locked tomestone. You’ll also gain gil, a Arkasodara Pana token, and 60 reputation points with the Arkasodara Tribe.

Some daily quests will have you riding one of the hippo carts to complete tasks. Since some of these quests require you to move between both halves of Thavnair, make sure to have flying unlocked beforehand - check out our Final Fantasy XIV Thavnair Aether Current guide for a complete list of the requirements.

Maxing out your reputation for the current rank — the Arkasodara Tribe starts at Rank 3 (Friendly) reputation — will unlock a new quest to reach the next reputation rank, along with some new rewards at the Arkasodara Pana token trader. Completing this quest will also unlock 3 new daily quests straight away, even if you’ve already accepted 3 for the day.

Arkasodara Tribe Rewards

Most of the rewards are acquired by trading Arkasora Pana tokens at the vendor Ghanta in Thavnair at x: 20.4, Y: 28.4. From the start you’ll have access to Grade IX and X materia, but you’ll eventually unlock housing items, a minion, and even a hippo and cart of your own.

However, the main reason to complete these tribes is to quickly level jobs up to 90. At level 80, doing all 3 quests will give over a third of the experience needed to reach level 81, with the percentage being slightly lower at higher levels.
