Looking to level up your gathering classes, or just want to help out the various races of Ultima Thule? Look no further than the Final Fantasy XIV Omicron tribal quests — despite the name, you’ll be dealing with more than the robotic lifeforms on their own. In our Final Fantasy XIV Omicron Tribal Quest Guide, we’ll detail everything you need to know about this new set of quests added in Patch 6.25.

Final Fantasy XIV Omicron Tribal Quests Unlock Requirements

There are two requirements that must be fulfilled before you can start the Omicron tribal quests. First, you must have completed the final Patch 6.0 quest “Endwalker”. Doing so will unlock a new sidequest (marked with a blue quest icon) in Old Sharlayan titled “Where No Loporrit Has Gone Before”. This quest unlocks a new level 90 dungeon, “The Stigma Dreamscape, which must be completed before you can finish the quest.

After “Where No Loporrit Has Gone Before” has been completed, the quest “The Café at the End of the Universe'' will now become available in Ultima Thule at X:25.4, Y:26.3. This quest can only be accepted on gathering classes (Fisher, Miner, or Botanist), with the items you’ll be gathering changing based on the class you use.

Completing “The Café at the End of the Universe'' will open up access to the Omicron Tribal daily quests, allowing you to start building reputation with the unlikely group that has taken form in Ultima Thule.

Omicron Tribal Daily Quests

Upon unlocking the tribe for the first time — and every day at 7AM PST / 10 AM EST / 3PM GMT after that — a new set of 3 daily quests will become available to take. Each one can be completed on any gathering class ranging from level 80 to 90. You’ll gain a lot of experience for each quest completed if using a class below level 90. Regardless of level, you’ll also gain gil, Omicron Omnitokens, and 60 reputation points with the Omicron Tribe.

With Ultima Thule being split into a number of landmasses, it’s best to make use of flying when necessary — some quests even require the use of a quest-specific mount to complete. If you still need to unlock flying in this zone, check out our Final Fantasy XIV Ultima Thule Aether Currents guide.

Travel time can be decreased by making use of the new portal that is added to Base Omicron once the Omicron tribal quests are unlocked. This portal is connected to A-4 Research, the area where you’ll accept and turn in daily quests. It’s faster than flying all the way up, and will save a lot of time in the long run.

If you want to speed daily quests up even more, there’s a handy trick to quests that require gathering. These quests will accept items even if they’ve previously been gathered. Because of this, you can gather a lot of these items at once, and then turn them in if the same quest appears again.

Maxing out your reputation for the current rank — the Omicron Tribe starts at Rank 3 (Friendly) reputation — will unlock a new quest to reach the next reputation rank, along with some new rewards at the N-0598 NPC’s token exchange. Completing this quest will also unlock 3 new daily quests straight away, even if you’ve already accepted 3 for the day.

Omicron Tribal Quest Rewards

The NPC N-0598 in Ultima Thule at X: 27.7, Y: 24.7 will trade Omicron Omnitokens for various rewards. To start with, only gatherer materia at grade IX and X will be available. However, later ranks unlock a triple triad card, minion, and at rank 7 you are able to get a new mount.

Once you’ve picked up all the rewards, it’s always worth stocking up on gathering materia ahead of later patches. When new crafted gathering gear is added, materia can sell for a decent amount of gil on the marketboard.
