Cyberpunk 2077 has a ton of options for combat in it, but perhaps the most iconic of them has been the Mantis Blades. The first sort of weapon shown way back in 2013, with the first cinematic trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, Mantis Blades are one of those elements of the franchise that is instantly recognizable.
No doubt, this is why they are a popular item of choice to upgrade into with your Cyberware. But, did you know that you can find a really strong pair of Mantis Blades for free in Night City? Read on to find out how.
Free Legendary Mantis Blades Location
Normally, the way to get Mantis Blades is you need to go to any ripperdoc, and have the right amount of street cred and eddies to get them installed. While we already went over the location and requirements for the legendary versions of the blades in Cyberpunk 2077, the price for them is steep to say the least, with 45 street cred alone required to sell them to you.
For those not willing to wait, there is a spawn point where you can find free Legendary Mantis Blades and have them installed at any ripperdoc, regardless of street cred level. For this to work, you need to be in Act 2 of the game, and have access to the Night City Center for Behavioral Health, located in the City Center next to Arasaka Plaza.
The blades are found during the quest Cyberpsycho Sighting: Phantom of Night City, which is unlocked by fixer contact Regina Jones. Your task for the quest is to pacify or kill Norio Akuhara, a Tyger Claw gang member who succumbed to Cyberpsychosis and is slaughtering his own gangmates.
To get the blades quickly, you need to duck into the right-hand side of the alleyway where Akuhara is located, where you will find a dead body and a trunk filled with items in the corner. Akuhara is often distracted by another gang member when you first walk into the section they are in, or you can attempt to stealth through or distract Akuhara through hacking. Either way, fighting Akuhara is actually optional, and it is an incredibly difficult fight, like most of the Cyberpsycho battles on lower levels.
The Legendary Mantis Blades are among the treasures inside. You simply need to go to a ripperdoc and have them installed, then you can start slicing and dicing your way through the gangs, corpos, and cops to your hearts content.
And that is pretty much all you need to know. The location is surprisingly easy to find, all you need to do is be careful with Akuhara.
