After you've gotten your first base set up in Survival: Fountain of Youth, you're going to start exploring the first island's Map and working on completing your Goals. As you play through the game, you'll start to level up your Skills and you'll gain Perk Points to purchase powerful Survival Abilities. Read on for more details!
What Are Survival Abilities in Survival: Fountain of Youth?
Survival Abilities are special abilities that you can unlock by spending Perk Points. These aren't just improvements to stats or something like that -- Survival Abilities can unlock powerful unique bonuses that can substantially improve your gameplay.
Which Survival: Fountain of Youth Survival Ability Should I Pick First?
You should take Rank 1 of Concentration first. This will unlock Concentration Mode which makes it easier to find special items when you're near them. After that, you should focus on Learning so you can accelerate the growth of your character as early as is reasonably possible.
How to Get Perk Points in Survival: Fountain of Youth
There are two ways to get Perk Points in Survival: Fountain of Youth:
- Examine Chronicles for the first time
- Complete Survival Tasks
What Are Skills in Survival: Fountain of Youth?
Survival: Fountain of You Skills are a representation of your player character's abilities to perform tasks. For example, the Cooking Skill represents how well you are able to Cook Food.
Skills are leveled up by performing tasks related to that Skill. Athletics can be leveled up simply by running, Cooking can be leveled up by Cooking Food, and so on. Each Skill tells you what you need to do in order to level it up in the menu.
Each Skill has a maximum of 10 levels. Furthermore, there are Books associated with each Skill that can unlock unique bonuses for that Skill such as Crafting Recipes.
Fastest Way to Level Up Skills in Survival: Fountain of Youth
The fastest way to level up Skills in Survival: Fountain of Youth is by performing tasks related to that Skill as often as you can. If you want to level up Swimming, you should spend some time Swimming. Fire Starting can be leveled up by starting fires over and over again. That's the basic idea.
Getting a Skill to maximum level, however, will take a fair amount of time. It's probably not worth it to grind once you get to Level 4 and unlock all three of the main bonuses for a Skill.
