Even if you have plenty of Food and Water, you're eventually going to get hurt in Survival: Fountain of Youth. You might get mauled by a Jackal or you may simply fall ill from some kind of sickness. Read on to learn more about Diseases and how you can treat them with medicine!

How Diseases Work in Survival: Fountain of Youth

Survival: Fountain of Youth Diseases are one of the less obvious dangers that you'll have to deal with. Eating bad food, exposing yourself to the elements, or suffering damage from animals can result in a Disease.

Diseases can have 4 "ranks," each of which is more severe than the last. Diseases have percentage chances of getting better or worse, and those chances can change depending on your Survival Abilities, what environmental hazards you are currently exposed to, and what Medicine you're using (if any).

All of the information on a Disease is available in the Character Statuses menu when you have it, along with treatment options.

How Medicine Works in Survival: Fountain of Youth

Survival: Fountain of Youth Medicine typically does one or more of these three things:

  1. Heals some Health over time
  2. Cures one or more ranks of one or more Diseases
  3. Provides temporary protection from cured Diseases

Simpler Medicines tend to cure fewer Ranks of Diseases. There are more powerful curatives out there that can completely wipe out a Disease in one go, but they're not easily Crafted.

  • The best Medicine for restoring Health is the Medical Kit.
  • The best Medicine for Wounds and Burns is the Clay and Egg Ointment.
  • The best Medicine for Poison and Indigestion is Powder from Snakes and Spiders.
  • The best Medicine for Flu and Overheating is the Sweating Potion.
  • The best Medicine for Fever is Chamomile and Sage Broth.
  • The best medicine for Near Death is Living Water.
