This guide will explain how to get Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2, how to get a Blood Moon spawn, and the best way to farm the wisps that drop Blood Moon Essence so you can purchase some of the best gear in the game.

How to get Blood Moon Essence in Remnant 2

Blood Moon Essence is a rare resource that can only be obtained by killing the purple wisp-like creatures during a Yaesha Blood Moon. This period only shows in a few key places, and while the normal sky is a greyish blue when you look through the trees - a blood moon will have a red-tinted sky.

The wisps will typically be higher up in the air and you can see them from afar, as well as take them down with a single shot of every weapon in the game. See the image below for what they look like!

On Yaesha, there are a few zones that are good for farming Blood Essence, such as:

• Faithless Thicket
• The Forbidden Grove
• The Far

How to get a Remnant 2 Blood Moon

Blood Moons are a rare occurrence, and it's not a guarantee when you step into one of the regions below - but there's a way to speed it up. If the Blood Moon isn't present when you spawn into one of the forested areas - head to a red crystal and spawn into another world, and then return.

You'll likely have to do this over and over until you get a Yaesha Blood Moon, so you can start the Blood Moon Essence Farm. Once you do, here's the best way to ensure you get as much as possible, as the Blood Moon will go away after a period.

Remnant 2 Blood Moon Essence Farming

Once you're in a zone at the right time - it's time to get started. Here's our Blood Moon Essence Farming Tips:

• Move quickly - scan the area and move on so you can clear the wisps as fast as possible.
• Avoid Enemies - If you have a fully-level'ed Handler Archetype, let your dog handle enemies while you hunt.
• Reset to Respawn more wisps - When you've cleared an area, head to a crystal or a door to reset the enemies in the area and farm more.

If you time it right, you should be able to farm about 20-30 Blood Essence per Blood Moon, and it will take 65 total Blood Moon Essence to unlock everything at a Bloodmoon Altar, which are labeled in blue on your map.

Remnant 2 Blood Moon Rooms

One of the secrets of Remnant 2 are Blood Moon rooms, which if discovered will grant you the Red Room Achievement for Discovering a Blood Moon Room.

The trick with these is that you have to find them, and it has to be during a Blood Moon. But if you do find them, the rewards are pretty stellar. See a picture of one below:

There's two that I've found so far:

• Cathedral of Omens (Must get the "Blood Moon" Solution) - Inside one of the reward rooms.
  • Reward: Ring of Omens + 3 Essence
    • Evades cost 15% Max Health as Grey Health instead of Stamina.
• Imperial Gardens - Close to the entrance of the zone, to the left. There's a statue overlooking it.
  • Reward: Full Moon Circlet + 3 Essence
    • Ranged damage Lifesteals 3% of base damage dealt. At full health, damage is increases by 20%.

One of my shards had both Cathedral of Omens and Imperial Gardens, but I hadn't paid attention looking for these until my first time in Cathedral.
