The appropriately named Sweltering Sands location in New Pokemon Snap is a desert oasis that attracts a wide variety of different Pokemon for you to photograph. Raising your Research Level in both the Day and Night variations of this location can be difficult, but with some time and patience, you'll be able to capture plenty of high-scoring pictures that can help you progress. 3-Star Opportunities

Torchich
Torchic can be spotted by the oasis near the center of the map. Toss a few applies their way and get some photographs of them enjoying a snack. Easy 3-star photo! 

Cacnea
Near the beginning of the level you'll be able to spot Cacnea rolling down a hill, don't hesitate to get the action shot! 

Hippowdown
Toward the end of the level you'll be able to spot a showdown between two Hippowdown. It can be tricky to grab the exact moment that qualifies fora 3-star photo, so don't be shy with that trigger finger! 

Onix
After you unlock the second path, veer off to the right and near the end of the level will be a group of Onix. Grab a photo of one roaring for a 3-star picture. 

Pinsir
In the sand crater byt the end of the level toss an apple down to reveal a Pinsir. Take some photos of Pinsir chowing down! 

Skorupi
Skorupi will get swept up in a tornado. This photo opportunity moves by fast, so be ready to capture the moment! 

4-Star Opportunities

Cacnea
Cacena will get swept up by a tornado early on in the level, grab the photo of them soaring through the air! 

Tyranitar
Wake up Tyranitar with apples and lure Lyranroc over. Lyanroc will run away, coax Tyranitar to follow and the Pokemon will perform a tail whip, destorying a rock formation. Take pictures through the whole action to not miss the perfect shot!

3-Star Opportunities: 

Trapinch
Can be spotted right at the beginning of the level jumping out of the sand. 

Skorupi
Toss Illumina balls at the three Cystalblooms near the beginning of the level and a meteor will strike the Pokemon. Grab a photo! 

Minior
When meteors come down after you light up the three Crystalblooms mentioned above, toss another Illumina ball at the sand where they struck. A Minior will rise up. 

Sandshrew
Lycanroc will be chasing Sandshrew across the desert, take a photo of the chase (just be sure the focus is on Sandshrew!) 

Lyanroc
When you get to the big cliff before the sandfalls, toss an Illumina balls up at the Crystalbloom. a Lycanrock will run across the cliff and howl at the moon, perfectly positioned for a photo. 

Flygon
Near the end of the level you'll find Flygon sleeping in a carter. You can wake the Pokemon by tossing apples down. Follow them with your camera to observe a stunning dragon dance -- you can grab 3- and 4-star photos here! 

Tyranitar
Ah, the mysterious twister! Toss an Illumina ball at the Crystalbloom by the twister and it will stop, revealing Tyranitar at the center. It can be difficult to wake Tyranitar, but toss apples at him until he rouses. When he roars you know you've got a 3-star photo. 

4-Star Opportunities: 

Minior
At Research Level 2 take the path to the right and near the end of the level you'll be able to spot some 4-star Minior floating in the air. 

Kangaskhan
Keep tossing apples in the direction of Kangaskhan when you take the left path. Toss them in the water nearby and directly at the Pokemon, eventually you'll get some action that can result in a 4-star photo. 

Flygon
As described above, watch the Dragon Dance carefully after you wake the Pokemon with apples.
