Fresh from The Pokemon Company, Nintendo, and Bandai Namco, a New Pokemon Snap update has been announced focusing on new routes, new pokemon, and a route where your vehicle gets miniaturized.
What is in the New Pokemon Snap update?
The New Pokemon Snap update will feature 3 new routes unlocked. One of them appears to be on Belusylva Island in the Jungle region, one is a new location in the Florio Island Nature Park, and one of them is a new area in the Sweltering Sands level based on what we see. The Florio Island Nature Park area has you shrinking down to a miniaturized size, which lets you get up close and personal with pokemon like Wurmple, and even ride on the back of Emolga. This changes the basic preconceptions of how you see the world by changing your size relative to the various pokemon giving you a new perspective. One example in the trailer is having Wurmple be bigger than you are.
The update also includes new pokemon for New Pokemon Snap, with sightings of fan favorites like Psyduck, Snorlax, Gyarados, and more in the trailer announcing the update. There are also new shots to be taken, like Blaistoise flying with a Squirtle on his back via the hydro pressure of his water cannons.
When is the New Pokemon Snap update releasing?
The New Pokemon Snap update is releasing on August 3rd for Nintendo Switch for free. Players will need to update their game on that day and then can expect to go see the new Pokemon on the new routes. If you want to see what it looks like, you can mosey over to Youtube here.
