The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is out and as all of the marketing has been pointing to the Master Sword is in a state of disrepair. There is a way to obtain a fully powered up Master Sword through a few objectives in Tears of the Kingdom. In this guide, we'll cover the requirements needed to obtain the revitalized Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom.

Tears of the Kingdom Master Sword Requirements

There are two requirements to be able to obtain the Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom. You need to have obtained all 12 memories that appear around the map as part of the Geoglyph quest line. These are not just important to collect but also fill in a lot of the story, if you're missing a few then you can check out our Tears of the Kingdom All Memories Guide. The second thing that's needed is enough Stamina to pull the Master Sword.

How much Stamina do you need to obtain the Master Sword in Tears of the Kingdom?

You need to have upgraded your stamina so that it is two complete circles, in Breath of the Wild the requirement for pulling out the Master Sword was having a certain number of hearts but this time it's more about dexterity than sheer strength. To get two complete Stamina circles you'll need to upgrade your Stamina 5 times, this means you'll need to collect 20 Blessings of Light at shrines located around Hyrule

Tears of the Kingdom Master Sword Details

The Master Sword is a powerful blade that doesn't have a traditional damage number associated to it. It's an extremely powerful weapon though and will make quick work of a large number of your standard enemies. An additional bonus to wielding the Master Sword is that when you're at full health you can hold down R as if you were throwing the blade and instead fire a spinning projectile. The Master Sword still has durability but after losing it's power it will recharge after 10 minutes and be useable again.

Be warned there are unavoidable spoilers past this point due to the nature of obtaining the Master Sword

Once the Dragon of Light has appeared after collecting the 12th memory it will begin to fly around the kingdom. It will start in the North-East of the map where you obtain the 12th Memory and it will begin heading south. It will fly continuously around the map in a clockwise direction. Utilize the Sky Towers or different flying machines to reach the Dragon of Light. There's an updraft all around the dragon so as long as you get close you should be able to get caught in the updraft and make your way to the Dragon's head.

Once at the Dragon's head, you'll be prompted to pull out the Master Sword, and then hold A as the Dragon flails. As long as you have two full stamina bars you will be able to pull out the Master Sword. After a brief cutscene, you'll land back at the Temple of Time in the Great Sky Islands.
