This Potion Permit Potions Guide will tell you how to brew Potions, how to unlock more Potions, and how to solve those tricky Task Potion puzzles!

How to Make Potions in Potion Permit

Making Potion Permit Potions isn't all that difficult -- think of it like a simple puzzle game where you can collect the pieces by exploring. Here's what you have to do:

  1. Gather Materials in the wilderness.
  2. Go to the Cauldron.
  3. Select a Potion you'd like to make.
  4. Place Materials on the grid in the Cauldron until it is full.
    • Materials must fit exactly in the grid -- you cannot overflow outside of it.
  5. Brew the Potion.
    • Once you've brewed a Potion 5 times, you can save a specific Potion recipe for quicker crafting.

What Does 'Add to Recipe' Do in Potion Permit?

The "Add to Recipe" feature in Potion Permit is unlocked after you've brewed a specific Potion a total of five times. On the fifth time, you can press the "Add to Recipe" button and it will save that exact Recipe for easier Potion brewing in the future.

After you've added a Recipe, you can brew that Recipe (or any other button you've saved) by pressing the indicated button on the bottom-right of the screen when you have a Potion Recipe highlighted. (For example, press X on an Xbox controller, and not A.) That will bring up a list of all of the Recipes you've saved. You can then brew as many of that Potion as you want in one action.

You can save a total of 3 Recipes. If you try to save a fourth Recipe, you will be prompted to replace one of your existing Potion Recipes.

How to Unlock More Potions in Potion Permit

You can unlock more Potions by progressing through the game and curing the pollution in the Meadow Range, Glaze Iceberg, and Barren Wasteland.

As you explore more of the world and solve more problems, the Medical Association will visit you and test your knowledge by requiring you to brew a Potion (and possibly Research it first). Successfully completing this test will unlock the next Tier of 5 Potions.

The sole exception to this rule are the Serums; you can only gain access to those by upgrading the Clinic.
