Our Enshrouded Hollow Halls Guide will tell you how to unlock, find, and complete all four of the new Hollow Halls dungeons.

Enshrouded had plenty of places to explore on the map and interesting quests such as the hunt for the Guard of the North armor. The first major update to the Early Access version has arrived and it brings with it a deadly new type of dungeon: the Hollow Halls. Read on to learn everything you need to know about these challenging new fortresses!

How to Unlock the Hollow Halls

You can unlock the Hollow Halls by receiving the Quest "Explore the Hollow Halls" from the Alchemist NPC. Naturally, this means that you'll need to unlock the Alchemist NPC before you're able to dive into the Hollow Halls dungeons.

How The Hollow Halls Work in Enshrouded

The Hollow Halls are isolated dungeons separated from the rest of the world; think of them as a much larger and more complex version of the Elixir Wells that you've probably already encountered on the map.

You'll get access to the first Hollow Halls dungeon from the Alchemist's Quest, but subsequent dungeons will require a unique key. That key is crafted using resources from the previous dungeon. The information on which resources you need is detailed in each dungeon's section later in this guide.

This means that the Hollow Halls dungeons must be completed in the following order:

  1. Springlands Hollow Halls
  2. Revelwood Hollow Halls
  3. The Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls
  4. Kindlewastes Hollow Halls

Barriers will block your way, but they can be opened if you find all of the Runes.

Every Hollow Halls dungeon uses a new "Barrier" mechanic. Teal force fields will protect doorways; they can only be removed by collecting Runes. Some Runes are floating item pickups and others are attached to enemies which must be defeated.

As an aside, it seems that the developers embraced the verticality of Enshrouded when making these dungeons. If you can't find the Runes for an area, look up; odds are, they'll be sitting on a ledge or nestled away in a tower somewhere nearby.

You'll be able to find specialized weapons in these dungeons that give you bonuses to fighting the enemies inside. You can also craft special food items at The Collector NPC which will give you further bonuses in your fight against the Hollow.

Finally — and most importantly — you will need to complete a Hollow Halls dungeon in a single setting. If you leave, it will reset and you'll have to start over. You should be prepared for an extended mission that can take 1–3 hours depending on your skill level. Bring plenty of food, potions, and a few Campfires to increase your chances of success!

Keep in mind that you won't be able to get into the later dungeons until you've completed the previous one; the Hollow Halls must be completed in the proper sequence.

Every Enshrouded Hollow Halls Quest

Here are the important details of every Hollow Halls Quest along with some advice on how to complete them.

Explore the Hollow Halls

Objectives

  • Find the Hollow Halls
  • Descend Into the Hollow Halls
  • Summon Your New Follower

The first Hollow Halls is pretty easy to explore; it's not much more difficult than the other dungeons in the Springlands. Still, you're going to want to go in with plenty of food and healing supplies — though the enemies may be weak, they can and will swarm you quickly.

Make sure to have a minimum of 50 Ectoplasm Fragments before you leave — you're going to need them to access the next Hollow Halls. Remember, you can easily get them by mining the glowing green stones in the piles of Bones. You'll need at least 20 Bones, too, so make sure to save some of those as well!

In addition to getting The Collector (a new NPC), you'll also find a new brick within the Springlands Hollow Halls called Hollow Halls Block.

Objectives

  • Craft a Revelwood Hollow Halls Key
    • Crafted at: Collector NPC
    • 50 Ectoplasm Fragment
    • 20 Bones
  • Find the Revelwood Hollow Halls
  • Enter the Revelwood Hollow Halls
  • Craft an Ectoplasm Press
    • 1 Hollow Cyclops Head
    • 120 Ectoplasm Fragment
    • 5 Copper Bars
    • 10 Charcoal
    • 4 Stone
    • 4 Wood Logs

The Revelwood Hollow Halls will require a special key to open the front door — the Revelwood Hollow Halls Key. If you don't have enough resources for it, you'll have to go back into the Springlands Hollow Halls and farm more resources.

Going forward, all future Hollow Halls dungeons will require their own key. Additionally, the key is used to open multiple doors inside of each Hollow Halls; make sure to have it on you at all times.

You're going to be exploring a much larger area this time around. In addition, the Barrier puzzles will be much larger. You should plan for an extended exploration lasting 1–2 hours. You can also find the new Red Marble Block in here.

This Hollow Halls also boasts the first trust boss fight — a massive, skeletal Cyclops that can stomp you to bits if you're not careful. You'll need the Giant Bones from it in order to make the next Hollow Halls Key, too.

The Hollow Cyclops is surprisingly fast and agile for its size; it can kill you quickly if you're unprepared.

The Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls

Objectives

  • Craft a Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls Key
    • 100 Ectoplasm Fragment
    • 1 Giant Bones
  • Reach the Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls
  • Master the Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls

Following along with previous trends, The Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls are much larger than their contemporaries. Expect to spend at least 1–2 hours in this dungeon, and don't forget to keep its associated key in your inventory.

You're going to be doing a lot more gliding in this dungeon. Unlocking the Barriers will involve reaching some runes that are in difficult-to-reach places. In my experience, you will spend at least 15–30 minutes slogging through a massive room with a dozen runes that need to be collected.

In addition to these challenges, The Nomad Highlands Hollow Halls also introduce a new resource: Ectoplasm Shards. You can only get these from enemies, so make sure to collect as many as possible — you're going to need 100 in order to craft the next Hollow Halls Key.

Finally, this dungeon will kick you while you're down by featuring a dual fight against the Cyclops boss from the previous dungeon. Bring plenty of supplies and expect to die a lot, even if you're overleveled.

The Kindlewastes Hollow Halls

Objectives

  • Craft a Kindlewastes Hollow Halls Key
    • 100 Ectoplasm Shard
    • 2 Giant Bones
  • Reach the Kindlewastes Hollow Halls
  • Master the Kindlewastes Hollow Halls

The Kindlewastes Hollow Halls is the final (and most challenging) Hollow Halls dungeon. The enemies are much tougher, but they'll still swarm you by the dozen if you're not careful about pulling them.

This Hollow Halls also boasts the distinction of being partially within the Shroud. You will have to fight both Hollow Halls enemies and high-level Shroud enemies within these halls. And, of course, this Dungeon will boast fights against multiple Cyclops.

Gliding will be incredibly important for making your way through this dungeon. There are long sequences where you will have to fly your glider past obstacles; hitting any of these obstacles will cause you to fall onto red terrain on the ground that will quickly drain your Shroud Timer.
