This guide will tell you how to unlock Craftspeople NPCs in Enshrouded along with all of their workbenches and items that we've found.

Much like Terraria, a big part of Enshrouded's early game is traveling across the map and finding helpful NPCs to aid you in your Quests. They'll help you with farming food and putting those Metal Scraps to good use — read on to learn everything you need to know about them!

How to Rescue Craftspeople NPCs in Enshrouded

You can rescue Craftspeople NPCs in Enshrouded by traveling to their respective Ancient Vaults (or, in the case of the Collector, Hollow Halls), traversing all of the obstacles, and interacting with their stasis pods. You'll get a prompt to save the Blacksmith after completing the first few quests in the early game.

Once you've rescued the Blacksmith, you'll be shown where to find the Alchemist, Carpenter, Farmer, and Hunter on the map. Though the game will send you toward one particular NPC, you can actually get them in any order that you'd like in my experience. The Alchemist will point you toward the Collector's location in a subsequent Quest.

Here's where you can find the Craftspeople NPCs in Enshrouded on the map:

Some of these Craftspeople NPCs are quite a distance away, so you'll want to get your hands on a Glider first. You're also going to need a Grappling Hook to traverse some of the obstacles in the Ancient Vaults (and along the way).

You can use the Summoning Staff to place any NPC in any one of your bases. Keep in mind that they'll need to have a roof over their head to access some of their recipes, and other recipes will require certain workbenches nearby.

One final note: some of these Ancient Vaults and Hollow Halls have traps that can hurt pretty badly. It's a good idea to build a Flame Altar nearby so you can respawn if you mess up too badly!

Craftspeople NPC Crafting Stations and Recipes List

Here are all of the workbenches that you can get from Craftspeople NPCs. Stations are listed in the order that they are unlocked, and some crafting recipes will require additional sub-stations.

Keep in mind that some of these items or workbenches may require you to complete additional quests or find new resources in an area that you have not yet visited! You'll also need to upgrade your Flame strength to get into some tougher Shroud areas.

Alchemist Crafting Stations and Recipes

  1. Mortar - Enhances the Alchemist's ability to craft resources.
  2. Grinding Stones - Converts one resource into another, such as Bone into Bonemeal.
  3. Alchemy Station - Creates basic alchemical resources.
  4. Laboratory - Creates more advanced alchemical resources such as Nitrate and Enshrouded Oil.

The Alchemist primarily makes the following items:

  • Potions
  • Magical Ammo
  • Mage Armor

If you're playing a Mage character, the Alchemist is where you'll be spending most of your time crafting. The Alchemist also gives you the quest for the best Glider in the early access launch of the game.

Blacksmith Crafting Stations and Recipes

  1. Charcoal Kiln - Creates Charcoal and other basic blacksmithing resources.
  2. Forge - Makes basic metal resources, such as converting Metal Scraps into Metal Sheets.
  3. Smelter - Smelts ores into bars.

The Blacksmith makes the following items:

  • Basic tools such as Felling Axes and Pickaxes
  • Weapons and shields for warrior-specced characters
  • Armor for warrior-specced characters

The Blacksmith is the NPC to visit if you're playing a melee-focused, tanky character. He is the first NPC that you'll unlock.

Carpenter Crafting Stations and Recipes

  1. Kiln - Turns Lumps of Clay into Fired Bricks.
  2. Table Saw - Turns Wood Logs into Wood Planks.

The Carpenter mainly makes the following items:

You'll be visiting the Carpenter often regardless of how you build your character to get essential movement items. He's the man to see if you want to fill out your base with furniture.

Collector Crafting Stations and Recipes

  1. Ectoplasm Press - Can convert Ectoplasm resources from the Hollow Halls into useful items.

The Collector makes the following items:

  • Items to access and survive the Hollow Halls
  • Skull Summoning items
  • Arrows
  • Furniture

The Collector is a specialized NPC that largely focuses on helping you survive the Hollow Halls. There are a few items available that will help you in other areas of the game (most notably the Skull Summoning items), but this NPC's core functionality is based on surviving one specific type of dungeon.

Farmer Crafting Stations and Recipes

  1. Fireplace - Provides heat and basic cooking.
  2. Oven - Allows for advanced cooking.

Here are the kinds of things the Farmer can make:

The Farmer is all about food, whether you're growing it or cooking it. Unlike some other games, some of the best cooking is done via the Farmer NPC rather than by yourself at a crafting station. (You will, however, need certain crafting stations built to make some of the more complex recipes.)

Hunter Crafting Stations and Recipes

  1. Hand Spindle
  2. Drying Rack
  3. Tanning Station
  4. Loom

Here are the sorts of things the Hunter makes:

  • Backpacks
  • Arrows
  • Cloth and fabric resources
  • Armor for rogue-specced characters

The Hunter is all for the damage-focused light character builds who like to use bows. You'll also need the Hunter if you're going to be making anything with fabrics or Leather.
