Abiotic Factor Crafting and Unlocks Guide

This guide will tell you how Abiotic Factor crafting works and how to unlock new crafting recipes. We also have a long list of crafting recipes!

Crafting is a big part of Abiotic Factor — you'll need to make a lot of stuff to properly defend your base and equip yourself for exploring the map. Read on to learn what you need to know about crafting!

How to Craft Items in Abiotic Factor

You'll mainly craft items in Abiotic Factor by using a powered Crafting Bench. You can craft a handful of items by hand in your inventory (including the Crafting Bench), but the vast majority of crafted items will require a powered Crafting Bench.

Note that you can also "un-Craft" items in a way by scrapping them using the Repair & Salvage Station. This will destroy the item and give you a small portion of the resources used to make the item. In some cases, scrapping is the only way to get access to some resources in the early game.

Finally, you should know that some crafting recipes will require items made through other skills such as farming and cooking. Solder, for example, is technically a cooking recipe since you make it in the same way that you make Soup.

How to Unlock New Crafting Recipes

There are four ways to unlock new crafting recipes in Abiotic Factor:

1. Pick up all of the resources in a crafting recipe.
2. Discover the crafting recipe by finding a crafted item or special item.
3. Get told the crafting recipe by an NPC as part of story progress.
4. Receive the crafting recipe from another player or a Brain Sync.

For the most part, you'll get new crafting recipes by finding new kinds of resources in the world. Keep exploring and picking things up and you're sure to find something new and interesting!
