Building a Smithy in Ashes of Creation

Intrepid Studios released an extensive gameplay video of its upcoming sandbox MMORPG Ashes of Creation, showing a player-run town.

Known as Node System, this feature lets groups of players build and run fully-functional custom towns offering service buildings, events, and much more. It's basically the defining feature of the game and one of the most anticipated among its fanbase.

Not only do we get to take a stroll around town, but we also see how the taxation system works. Then we move on to the building of a smithy that can be used to craft weapons and armor.

Ater taking a look at how the smithy is actually used, we climb up to the downtown area, where the administrative buildings are located. We also hear from the developers that there will be various kinds of nodes, with different layout.

The feature is definitely impressive, and I'm sire many are eager to play with it when Alpha 2 becomes available, albeit don't yet know when that will be.

You can watch the video below. You can also enjoy the full livestream during which it was revealed to hear more details about how nodes will work.

Ashes of Creation has been in the works at Interepid Studios for a number of years after it was funded via a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2017, receving nearly $3.3 million from almost 20,000 backers.

You can see more videos showcasing a freehold and housinganother showing off the Tank archetypeone demonstrating theintriguing Story Arc System and the Tower of Carphinone focusing the Mage archetypeanother displaying a spectacular boss battle against a massive cyclops, and one focusing on the Cleric archetype
