Intrepid Studios released an extensive gameplay video of its upcoming sandbox MMORPG Ashes of Creation.
The video is extremely interesting, as not only it showcases the Tower of Carphin dungeon, which looks awesome, but it also focuses on the innovative Story Arc System.
Being a sandbox MMORPG in which players basically build everything, there are no preset quest hubs. Instead, what the players build will trigger the appearance of Story Arcs which will spawn quest givers, radically change certain areas, populate them with special monsters and limited resources, and provide multi-tier stories that the community can enjoy while influencing how they progress and their outcome.

Ashes of Creation has been in development for quite some time following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2017, gathering nearly $3.3 million from almost 20,000 users.
Alpha 2 is supposed to have most of the game's systems and features in place for players to test, but it doesn't have a firm date yet. You can see more in a previous video released a few weeks ago focusing on tanks.
We can only hope that Ashes will live up to its lofty ambitions, as the MMORPG market can certainly use something new to shake it up a bit.
