Intrepid Studios released another extensive and rather impressive gameplay video of its upcoming sandbox MMORPG Ashes of Creation.

This time, we take a look at a "freehold," which is basically a player-run village. You can place them basically anywhere you like excluding areas that are blocked out like dungeons or similar, which gives the players a lot of freedom.

In your freehold you can enjoy farming and animal husbandry (which we see in action in the video) on top of crafting and, of course, decorating your houses.

You can check it out below. You can also enjoy the recording of a longer livestream showing off new artwork created for the game and more developer commentary.

Ashes of Creation has been in development for quite some time following a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2017, gathering nearly $3.3 million from almost 20,000 users.

Alpha 2 is supposed to have most of the game's systems and features in place for players to test, but it doesn't have a firm date yet. You can see more in a previous video released a few weeks ago focusing on tanks, another showcasing the Story Arc System and the Tower of Carphin, one showing off the Mage archetype, and another showcasing a roaming boss battle against a massive cyclops.

I'm confident I'm not the only one hoping that Ashes will live up to its lofty ambitions, as the MMORPG genre has been a bit stagnant as of late, and it can use a new successful entry that doesn't stick to the usual "theme park" approach.
