Medieval kingdom sim Norland, which is being published by Manor Lords publisher Hooded Horse, has been delayed until summer to allow developer Long Jaunt to add new features.
Per a press release, while Norland was originally slated for release later in May, it's now set to launch on PC via Steam on July 18th, representing around two months of additional development time.
Said time will be spent not just on polishing up the game for its launch (into Early Access, natch), but also on adding a number of new gameplay features and systems to Norland, hopefully making for a deeper gameplay experience.

Features to be added during the extra time include enhanced World Map trading, new province ecology systems, and new local map mechanics like patrolling and market speculation.
You can also look forward to your kingdom's ruling family aging, as well as "prophecies and disasters for the mid-game". That should shake you out of your complacency a little if you've got a nice little kingdom racket going.
It sounds like a lot of people will be excited to check the game out when it does eventually launch, too, because Hooded Horse and Long Jaunt have also announced that Norland has crossed the 500k wishlist mark.
A full list of the changes being made in Norland, as well as detailed info on each of them, can be found right here, so give it a read if you want to get into the nitty-gritty.

If you're not familiar with Norland, it's a city-builder with an emphasis on emergent gameplay and organic story generation. It was originally announced back in 2022, and since then, it's picked up Manor Lords overseer Hooded Horse as a publisher.
Norland is set to launch on PC via Steam Early Access on July 18th. You can wishlist it right here if you want to keep up with its progress until then.
