You can now play Fortnite for free on Android and iOS once again -- the popular Battle Royale game has made its debut on Xbox Cloud Gaming in 26 countries.

Fortnite has had more than its fair share of legal troubles over the years. One of the more serious issues in recent times is the game's absence from Android and iOS due to ongoing lawsuits with Google and Apple. Now, the game is finally back on mobile devices thanks to a new deal with Microsoft.

You Can Now Play Fortnite on Android and iOS with Xbox Cloud Gaming

A news post from Xbox (via Reddit) has made the happy announcement that Fortnite is returning to Android and iOS, albeit in an unusual way -- this Battle Royale game is now one of the many titles available on Xbox Cloud Gaming. The mobile version of this popular Battle Royale will be playable with touch controls or with whatever controller you might want to hook up to your device.

Fortnite has been shaking things up lately -- it introduced a "Zero Build" mode last month and it disabled the popular Party Royale mode to fix some issues with the game. Naturally, it has continued to release new content and skins in both its store and Battle Pass.

Interestingly, you won't need an Xbox Game Pass membership to play the game. All you need is a Microsoft account -- once that's done, you can go to xbox.com/play and dive right into the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta -- that will give you immediate access to Fortnite on Android and iOS. If you prefer to game on other platforms, you can play Fortnite for free on PC and consoles via its official website.
