In this Hero's Hour Horde Faction Guide, I'll tell you what you need to know to get started with playing the Remains of the Horde.

Hero's Hour Horde Faction Guide - Basic Strategy

Horde is a faction that's all about battle -- so much so that it doesn't upgrade units in the traditional fashion. Instead, Horde units are upgraded through battle (as long as you've built the Banner of Champions). You can choose to have a fairly mobile army mixing in Raiders, Bloodwarpers, and Cyclops, but that's not your only option; you can also build a somewhat slower, more traditional army if you so choose.

Horde's Unique Buildings are Nomad Hall, Sky Pillars, and Banner of Champions.

Nomad Hall

The Nomad Hall allows you to hire cheap pre-made armies that cannot be reinforced or join other armies.

Sky Pillar

The Sky Pillar gives any Hero who visits town a permanent +1 Luck. It also adds 1 Sand Elemental to your town's garrison each day.

Banner of Champions

The Banner of Champions is required for upgrading Horde units -- rather than upgrading buildings, Horde units are instead upgraded through battle.

Here are the unit choices you have to make for the Horde Faction.

Fury or Goblin Guerilla?

Furies can fly across the battlefield and break up enemy formations with Knockback. Goblin Guerillas are ground-based ranged units.

Centaur or Raider?

Centaurs are highly-mobile Ranged units that can, once upgraded, do AoE damage with their attacks. Raiders are fast-charging melee units; their upgraded version can inflict Venom on enemies.

Troll or Bloodwarper?

Trolls are hulking beasts that use ranged AoE attacks; they can inflict Terror once upgraded. The Bloodwarper focuses on death, getting stronger when allies die and resurrecting a portion of dead allies, too.
