Bandai Namco released new trailers of the upcoming JRPG Sand Land, showcasing three of the many vehicles that you can enjoy in the game.
Specifically, we start with a look at the Hover Scooter, which pretty much does what it says on the tin.
Not only you can hover around on what appears to be a very maneuverable vehicle with the ability to strafe, but you can also skim across water, albeit we don't get to see this specific feature in the video.
We also get to see it armed with a machine gun and a grenade launcher, albeit it's probable that this loadout can be customized.
At the beginning of the trailer, more vehicles are shown, including a car with a missile launcher trailer, a bike, a quad bike, and a mecha. While the tank is kind of the game's poster boy, there seems to be a wide variety of vehicles to enjoy.
Two more short videos showcase two additional vehicles, the Hover Jet and the Battle Bot.
The more I look at this game, the more it feels like the Metal Max fans of the series have been waiting for a long time, just featuring a different IP.
We recently learned that Sand Land will be released for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on April 26, 2024.
If you'd like to see more footage of the game, you can check out the latest trailer that was revealed alongside the release date, another video, and one more focusing on the story, both in English and Japanese.
For those who don't know this franchise, which is certainly a bit more obscure than the rest of its pedigree, Sand Land is inspired by a manga by Akira Toriyama (you likely know the name for the Dragon Ball series) which debuted on the ultra-popular Weekly Shounen Jump magazine in 2000.
Last year, the series got new visibility thanks to an anime movie and a TV series simply titled Sand Land: The Series will air in the next anime season this spring on Disney streaming platforms.
