Today Bandai Namco released a new trailer focusing on the story of the upcoming anime game Sand Land.
We get to meet the main characters, including the demon prince Beelzebub, the elderly sheriff Rao, their ally Thief, and quite a few of the villains that we'll face in the game.
You'll likely recognize the art style, as it's pretty much unmistakable. Sand Land is Bandai Namco's take on a manga by Akira Toriyama and the related anime.
The setting is a mix between Mad Max, Dragon Ball, Fist of the North Star, and Metal Max, a world where wars and natural disasters have disrupted the supply of water creating a massive desert.
In this harsh landscape, the King is making access to his water supply more and more expensive, taking advantage of the people.
You can watch the trailer below to check it out for yourself.
Sand Land will release for PS5, PS4, Xbox Serie X|S, and PC via Steam. It doesn't yet have a release date. It was revealed Summer Game Fest in June, with another look shared in July.
It's inspired by the manga by Akira Toriyama (whom you may know as the creator of Dragon Ball) published on Weekly Shounen Jump in 2000.
While it's one of Toriyama-sensei's shortest manga, it certainly has a lot of personality.
An anime film almost just premiered in August, animated by Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and Anime. It was directed by Toshihisa Yokoshima and Hiroshi Kōjina.
