Bandai Namco has released a new 9-minute gameplay overview trailer for Sand Land, its upcoming RPG inspired by legendary creator Akira Toriyama's manga.

The trailer provides insight into the narrative setup for Sand Land, as well as the game's combat, exploration systems, and more. If you've enjoyed previous Sand Land trailers, you'll definitely want to check this one out as well, as it's pretty in-depth.

First up, we're introduced to the team at the core of Sand Land: the player character Beelzebub, his demon advisor Thief, and the human sheriff Rao. As you travel, they'll provide guidance and support you both in and out of combat.

These three are the core characters of Sand Land.

In case you're worried that Sand Land will be...well, just sand, worry no more. Bandai Namco says that beyond the titular Sand Land itself, a green and verdant world lies waiting, and you'll be able to explore that world as well.

Next, we get a look at Sand Land's combat. Beelzebub is an agile fighter who can chain combos both on the ground and in the air, and you'll also have access to stealth.

Naturally, Sand Land will also feature a skill tree wherein you can learn many new skills, including "the ability to turn your body to metal" and an epic-looking blast called "Dark Release". Beelzebub isn't the only one with a skill tree, either; your allies have them too.

Sand Land isn't a survival game per se, but it does feature a "water" resource; if your water bottle is full, Beelzebub will drink it to restore his health, so it's important to stay topped up. Just like in real life!

We then get to see a selection of Sand Land's vehicles, including the acrobatic Jump Bot, the water-traversing Hover Car, and the strong Battle Armor, which can move obstacles to unblock paths.

You'll be able to carry a selection of vehicles around with you via capsules, with up to five available to you at any given time.

Of course, vehicles are also involved in combat; they've got higher resistance and firepower than Beelzebub alone has, so you'll need to use them to fight larger and more powerful enemies.

However, if vehicles are destroyed, you will be as well, which is where vehicle customization comes in. You'll be able to customize your vehicles so that they stand a better chance in combat, and the vehicle customization looks pretty detailed. It's not quite Armored Core 6, but it's not far off.

Sand Land will have tons of vehicle customization options.

Lastly, we get a look at the desert metropolis of Spino City, which "may look ravaged and decayed" but is, in fact, the perfect place to call home.

It's got a wide selection of merchants to buy items from, as well as a garage to help you customize vehicles and even a room you can decorate however you like.

As the game goes on, Spino will grow, too, so you'll meet more and more people on its sand-strewn streets as you complete sidequests and beat enemies. Naturally, more items will become available as you do so as well.

Sand Land is heading to PC, PlayStation consoles, and Xbox Series X|S on April 26th. Stay tuned for more on this one.
