Today Bandai Namco revealed a new trailer of its upcoming JRPG Sand Land, inspired by a manga by Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama.
While so far we've mostly seen the game's desert biome, today we get to take a look at the neighboring nation, the verdant Forest Land.
Forest Land is apparently peaceful, but it hides a violent side. It's governed by the ruthless Muniel, who is determined to protect the nation by securing a supply of the powerful but dangerous resource named Aquanium.
Muniel is in command of a powerful army led by multiple generals, Krowa, Epi, and Rosetta. They have our heroes outnumbered and outgunned, so the players will have to work hard to defeat them.
One thing is for sure. Forest Land is definitely a big departure from what we've seen of Sand Land so far, and shows that there's more to this game than meets the eye.
You can check it all out in the trailer below.
Sand Land is coming on April 26, 2024, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Serie X|S, and PC via Steam. If you don't want to wait for next month, a demo has just been released and can be downloaded right now.
If you're unfamiliar with the name, Sand Land is inspired by a manga by Akira Toriyama which debuted on Weekly Shounen Jump in 2000. Unfortunately, the beloved mangaka has recently passed away.
An animated movie was released in 2003 and an anime TV series simply titled Sand Land: The Series is currently airing exclusively on Disney streaming platforms.
Today's reveal of Forest Land is not casual, as the nation was introduced in episode 7 of the anime, which just premiered. The animated series is a collaboration between Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga, and Anima.
If you'd like to see more of this intriguing JRPG, you can check out another trailer and one focusing on the story, both in English and Japanese.
