We may be just ten days away from the launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but that hasn't stopped Game Freak releasing a brand new trailer showing off new info about the game. This includes our first glimpse of what appear to be Paradox Pokemon, although they weren't named as such in the trailer.

As we near the launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, new info is trickling out about the 'mons and gameplay mechanics we can expect. This info includes the reveal of new Pokemon Gimmighoul over the weekend, as well as reveals for other cute-looking critters like Greavard and Wiglett

If you're hungry for more Gimmighoul info, a new press release accompanying the latest Scarlet and Violet trailer has you covered. It's got two forms, a Roaming form and a Chest form, and the Chest form is far more common since the Roaming form is smaller and harder to spot. You can get a glimpse of Gimmighoul and lots of other critters in the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trailer, which you can watch below.

Said press release also reveals the Scarlet and Violet Books, which will apparently pertain to the long-rumored Paradox Pokemon (which Game Freak still hasn't officially revealed). These are past and future forms of Pokemon with different, more intimidating names; the two revealed in the press release are Great Tusk and Iron Treads, which appear to be Paradox forms of the Pokemon Donphan. Again, it's worth remembering that the term "Paradox Pokemon" still hasn't officially been revealed, so we'll likely need to wait until the game launches to fully get to grips with them.

Tera Raid Battles were originally revealed for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet back in August, but Game Freak has unveiled a new version of this event called Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles. You might find black crystals while you're out and about in Paldea, and these crystals will allow you to fight a Tera Raid Battle against a Pokemon that's much stronger than usual. If you manage to beat it, you'll get a chance to earn even better rewards than normal.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet's black crystal battles will allow you to catch powerful Pokemon like Charizard.

The first of these is Charizard, which will be available between December 2nd and 4th, then again between December 16th and 18th. Since you can't normally find Charizard in Paldea, this will be a good chance to pick one up, and it's got Dragon as its Tera Type too. Bear in mind black crystal Tera Raid Battles won't become available until the postgame. After Scarlet and Violet's launch, you'll also find Special Raid Battles added periodically that will increase your chances of encountering certain 'mons.

There's more to look forward to in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, including a tie-in with Pokemon Unite that unlocks ScarVi's main character's outfit for use in the MOBA, as well as compatibility with Pokemon Home and Pokemon Go. As well as this, if you've got data from Pokemon Legends: ArceusBrilliant Diamond and Shining PearlSword and Shield, or Let's Go Pikachu or Eevee, you'll get a special Rotom phone case for use in ScarVi. Not bad, eh?

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet launch for Nintendo Switch on November 18th. They'll set you back $59.99 apiece, and there's a double pack available for pre-order at $119.99 as well. Watch this space for more Pokemon info.
