Today is the first anniversary of the release of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and The Pokemon Company is celebrating with music via a collaboration with Yoasobi.

The popular Japanese music duo formed by composer Ayase and vocalist Ikura created the song "Biri-Biri" inspired by the game both in Japanese and English.

The song appears in a super-cute music video following the story of a tie-in novel titled "After the Rain with You" by Ayano Takeda, also released today in Japanese and inspired by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. It depicts a version of the story in which Nemona befriends a transfer student named Anna.

The video showcases relevant moments of the story depicted in beautiful CGI, with plenty of Pokemon action.

You can watch it below.

While the music video features the song in Japanese, it has also been recorded in English, and you can listen below.

At the moment of this writing, no version of the video with the English song has been released, so you'll have to listen to it without the images.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was released on November 18, 2022, exactly a year ago. If you still haven't purchased it, you can grab a copy on Amazon

If you'd like to read more about Pokemon Scarlet and Violet you can read our review of the main game, with our Andrew Stretch awarding it with an 8.5 out of 10, praising its dense open world, the story, and the multiplayer, but finding the performance as a sorespot.

He found similar results in his review of the first DLC, The Teal Mask, awarding it with the same score as the original title.

On December 14, the game will receive a second injection of additional storytelling with a second DLC titled The Indigo Disk, which will complete the story started with the first DLC and titled The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.
