Today the Toyota Engineering Society revealed a collaboration with The Pokemon Company that resulted in the creation of a real-world model of Miraidon.

The cover Pokemon of Pokemon Violet will be showcased between tomorrow, March 15, and March 17 in the main atrium of the Tokyo Midtown Hibiya shopping mall.

According to the press release, the beautiful model doesn't just reproduce Miraidon's iconic looks, but it's also very close in size and weight. Thanks to the power of engineering it's animated and can transform between four-legged mode and driving mode.

If you're wondering, the Toyota Engineering Society is an organization of volunteers among Toyota Employees interested in improving technology. The group has been running for over 70 years.

Every year, the city of Toyota and the Toyota Engineering Society jointly organize the "Waku Waku World" event to showcase the result of that year's manufacturing project created by the society.

You can check out the Miraidon in the video below.

This year marks the 23rd project with the theme "Future Mobility" and the Society took inspiration from 8,000 questionnaires by elementary students from Toyota. One drawing particularly stood out, portraying a beautifully designed Miraidon.

It matched the idea that many children dream of the future of mobility since you can communicate with it like a friend and enjoy riding on its back.

This sparked the project that saw The Pokemon Company and the Toyota Engineering Society work together to convey the message that "an adult's seriousness can become a child's dream" and "Dreams don't end as dreams, as imagination creates the future."

The Miraidon was created In just six months, starting in June 2023, with manufacturing professionals and partner companies joining hands to create it.

During the exhibition, which is free, people who weigh under 65 kg will be allowed to ride the Pokemon, but they'll first need to get a numbered ticket. The availability of the tickets will be limited.
