Following its recent release, the mobile game Muv-Luv Dimensions is getting its first event next week, and it's all about summer.

The event is titled "Doki! Mystery adventure full of swimsuits!?" and it's exactly what it says on the tin, as you can see from the image above. It will start on July 18, 2023, and end on August 24.

It will feature a special story and players will be able to collect "marine bird feathers" to redeem a bunch of rewards, including SR pilots and TSF mecha acquired by clearing the story.

On top of that, a new gacha banner will include SSR Inia Sestina, SSR Yuzuka Sendou, and SR Sigelinde von Fahrenhorst.

July 18 will also see an update on Android (it'll come on the 19th on iOS) that will fix a bug that turns fuel into a negative number after launching expeditions and another that causes the screen to turn completely black on Android.

If you aren't familiar with Muv-Luv Dimensions, it's a free-to-play mobile game for iOS and Android based on the popular Muv-Luv visual novel series. It was originally released last year as Muv-Luv Immortals, but it was affected by significant problems and immediately withdrawn.

Publisher aNCHOR decided to completely overhaul the game bringing in seasoned mobile developer NextNinja, which released it a few days ago in much better state.

If you'd like to see more, recently we saw character trailers for Mana Tsukuyomi, Marimo JinguujiIlfriede von FeulnerYui TakamuraTakatsugu Ikaruga, and Chizuru Sakaki on top of a TV commercial

For now, the game has been announced only for Japan. But hopefully, aNCHOR and NextNinja will release it in English as well down the line.

The franchise (which just recently has made an unexpected appearance in New York's Times Square) is widely considered one of the best visual novel series of all time and one of the first isekai stories that made waves within Japanese pop culture when the genre wasn't as oversaturated as it is now.

It mixes a tragic and romantic story with one of the best and deepest sci-fi worlds ever written. It's so influential that Attack on Titan mangaka Hajime Isayama cited it multiple times as one of his main sources of inspiration.

Most Muv-Luv visual novels are currently available in English on Steam (while Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative have also been released on PS Vita) alongside the early access action game Project MIKHAIL: A Muv-Luv War Story.
