Today Epic Games announced the upcoming update v29.00 for its popular survival crafting game LEGO Fortnite, coming with quite a few interesting goodies.

The update launches tomorrow, March 8, and one of its features connects it with the previous update letting you hang legendary fish you captured as decorations.

More Fortnite skins are also getting their LEGO style, including the following.

Lego Fortnite Beachside Boulevard Bundle

  • Beach Bomber
  • Brite Agent
  • Burnout
  • Chomp Sr
  • Hime
  • Marshmello
  • Maven
  • Spider Knight
  • Toxic Trooper
  • Vertex

Perhaps the biggest change comes in the form of paid LEGO kits, which you'll be able to purchase starting on March 9. These include cosmetic builds, building parts, and decor items to make your world more colorful.

You'll be able to use them infinitely in your own worlds and in up to 8 worlds owned by your friends.

The Beachside Boulevard Bundle will cost 1,900 V-Bucks and include 7 builds and 44 decor items. The Durrr Burger Bundle will cost 2,000 V-Bucks and include 3 builds and 41 decor items.

Another big set comes at a later date, specifically on March 16, and it's the classic Lion Knights’ Castle Bundle. It'll cost 2,500 V-Bucks and include 10 builds and 64 decor items.

These require resources to be built and provide no gameplay advantage, also, Epic pledged to continue to add free builds, building parts, and decor items to LEGO Fortnite over time, so it's not like you have to pay or be stuck with the current parts forever.

Further patch notes are as follows.

GAMEPLAY

  • Your constructs are less likely to break unexpectedly. We’re continuing to work on this issue, especially when it comes to constructs inside caves.
  • Wheel attachments will no longer teleport and damage constructs.
  • Players will no longer teleport as a result of getting up from a chair.
  • Villagers assigned to the Loom will no longer give incorrect resources.
  • Villagers following you can now follow you on stairs!

STABILITY AND PERFORMANCE

  • Crashes are less likely when you’re exiting caves.
  • General crashes are less likely.

LEGO Fortnite is currently available on every platform on which you can play Fortnite, which is also getting its new season tomorrow

It's part of Epic Games' strategy to transform the game from a battle royale title into a full-fledged metaverse offering many different gameplay experiences.

It was launched a few weeks ago alongside Rocket Racing by Rocket League studio Psyonix, and Fornite Festival by Rock Band developer Harmonix (which just moved into its Season 2 featuring Lady Gaga).

That strategy took another recent turn due to a large deal with Disney, which invested $1.5 billion to acquire a stake in Epic. This will lead to the future launch of a persistent world linked to Fortnite dedicated to Disney's IPs.
