Today Epic Games revealed the next season coming to its popular Battle Royale game Fortnite, and it's predictably themed after mythology.

Season 2 of Chapter 5 is titled "Myths & Mortals" and will launch tomorrow. Its nature likely won't surprise fans considering that it has been teased for a few days.

Above you can see the loading screen, and Epic also released a trailer on X (formerly Twitter) which you can watch below.

Of course, the new season will require server maintenance to be deployed, and it will start at 3:00 a.m. EST, which translates into midnight PST, 8:00 a.m. GMT, or 9:00 a.m. CET.

Matchmaking will go down a few minutes before the servers do.

Below you can take a look at the trailer, featuring some of the skins introduced with the seasons, obviously inspired by Gods in Greek mythology.

Fortnite is currently available for pretty much every modern platform.

Recently, Epic Games has started to shift from a simple battle royale game toward the goal of turning Fortnite into a full-fledged metaverse offering a wide variety of experiences.

A big step toward that goal is the recent release of the survival crafting game LEGO FortniteRocket Racing by Rocket League studio Psyonix, and Fornite Festival by Rock Band developer Harmonix (which just moved into its Season 2 featuring Lady Gaga).

Another large Metaverse push came with the announcement of a massive deal with Disney involving the investment of $1.5 billion to acquire a stake in Epic and the creation of a full-fledged persistent world linked to Fortnite dedicated to Disney's properties.

Epic Games has also been trying to officially bring back Fortnite to iOS, but its attempt has recently been thwarted by Apple, which terminated the developer's iOS account in a move that unleashed Epic's ire.
