Epic Games is teasing the next season coming soon to its massively popular battle-royale game and wannabe metaverse Fortnite.

Fans are waiting for Chapter 5 Season 2, which is going to start in just a few days on March 9, and as usual, the next season is being teased in-game.

A titanic hand holding a massive chained Pandora's Box has appeared in the current map, challenging players to shoot the box.

Of course, with Fortnite being a game mainly centered on shooting stuff, players obliged.

Once damaged enough, the box falls from its chain and opens, revealing a pillar of raging flames. You can see the scene below courtesy of Twitter user Rezztro

Another tease was revealed on X (formerly Twitter) featuring what appears to be obviously Zeus, the father of the Gods from the ancient Greek pantheon.

The true meaning of the teases remains to be discovered, but it won't take long before we get the full reveal of the new season and its contents.

If previous seasons are any indication, we're quite likely to start seeing more specific teases in the next few days and perhaps even tomorrow.

Fortnite is currently available for pretty much every platform with a chip. Recently, Epic Games steered toward turning the game into a full-fledged metaverse offering a variety of experiences.

The first step toward that goal is the recent release of the survival crafting game LEGO Fortnite (which just got a large update), Rocket Racing by Rocket League studio Psyonix, and Fornite Festival by Rock Band developer Harmonix (which just moved into its Season 2 featuring Lady Gaga).

Speaking of which, a few weeks ago Epic announced a massive deal with Disney, which invested $1.5 billion to acquire a stake in the developer. This deal will lead to the creation of a full-fledged persistent world linked to Fortnite dedicated to Disney's properties.
