Honkai: Star Rail will be updated to version 2.0 soon, and today HoYoverse introduced one of the patch's main selling points, the new character Black Swan.
Black Swan is a five-star Wind character following the path of Nihility and she will be introduced with the new Event Warp, titled "Ripples in Reflection."
Alongside her, players will be able to roll for the new four-star character Misha on top of the returning characters Guinaifen and Tingyun.
The trailer comes with the following flavor text.
"Sick is the first bunny, sees does the second. Medicine does the third bunny seek, and brew does the fourth." "Passed is the fifth bunny, and bears the body does the six. Digging is the seventh bunny, and burying does the eight." "To collapse and weep is the ninth bunny, and ask does the tenth." "Answers does the ninth bunny: oh, fifth is gone. Gone, and never to return."
We already saw Black Swan appear in a previous trailer introducing the new planet Penacony, and today we get to take another look at her mysterious ways. Interestingly, this is one among very few trailers actually featuring the Trailblazer.
Likely, tomorrow we'll get to see her gameplay to celebrate the release of the new update, which is coming on February 6, 2024.
Black Swan is voiced in English by Arryn Zech (you can hear her performance in the trailer embedded below) and in Japanese by Hitomi Nabatame, who previously played Cryska Barchenowa in Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse, Amy in the SoulCalibur series, Millie Chliette in Star Ocean, and more.
You can hear her performance on the Japanese version of the trailer which can be found on the official YouTube channel.
Update 2/6/2024: another trailer has been released to celebrate the release of version 2.0 and Black Swan's own launch in the gacha, showing off her gameplay in-depth.
Honkai: Star Rail is out on PC, PS5, iOS, and Android. It's free to play, so you can enjoy it without spending a dime, but there are plenty of microtransactions to enjoy if that's your thing.
If you're interested in HoYoverse's games in general, we also heard that the upcoming action RPG Zenless Zone Zero is coming for PS5 on top of PC and mobile a few days ago.
