Honkai: Star Rail Robin and Boothill

HoYoverse revealed two new characters coming to its popular free-to-play gacha game Honkai: Star Rail, alongside the date for the reveal of the new version.

We learn that version 2.1 will be titled "Into the Yawning Chasm" and will be revealed with a livestream on Friday, March 16 at 11:30 a.m. GMT, 12:30 p.m. CET, 7:30 a.m. EDT, or 4:30 a.m. PDT depending on where you live.

You can find the livestream embedded at the bottom of the post if you'd like to follow along. Of course, you can also find a full report here on TechRaptor after the reveal.

Robin in Honkai: Star Rail

We then move on to the first new character, Robin. A five-star physical character following the path of Harmony.

She's voiced by Alice Himora in English and Kaori Nazuka in Japanese. You may know her as Charlotta in Granblue Fantasy, Totori in the Atelier series, Frau Kojiro in Robotics;Notes, Nunnally Lamperouge in Code Geass, and many more popular roles.

Here's how she's described officially.

"There's a saying — the more demanding the diner, the stronger the skills of the chef... but no matter what others say, I'll always be demanding more from myself."

A Halovian singer born in Penacony and rose to cosmic fame. An elegant and demure young lady. This time, she has been invited home by The Family to grace everyone with a song at the Charmony Festival. She can use the power of Harmony to broadcast her music, manifesting "resonance" among not only her fans but all manner of lifeforms.

Boothill in Honkai Star Rail

The second new character is Boothill, a five-star physical character following the path of the Hunt. He's voiced by Andrew Russell in English and Katsuyuki Konishi in Japanese.

You may be familiar with Konishi-san's work as the new voice of Hien in Final Fantasy XIV, Phoenix Ikki in Saint Seiya, Maxima in The King of Fighters XV, Olberic Eisenberg in Octopath Traveler, Lloyd Irving in Tales of Symphonia, and many more.

Here's how he's described officially.

"So, here's the thing: someone went and tinkered with my Synesthesia Beacon, so now, all you folks can hear is me and those adorable little troublemakers talkin' like this... cutie, cutie, cutie. Looky here, see?"

A cyborg cowboy drifting among the stars. Extremely optimistic and unrestrained. He is a member of the Galaxy Rangers who swore to punish the wretched by any and all means... His flamboyant and brash actions were all to draw the attention of the Interastral Peace Corporation — the target of his revenge.

Below you can check out the embed of the upcoming livestream for version 2.1, albeit you should keep in mind that the characters revealed today will likely come in version 2.2.

Honkai: Star Rail is currently available for PC, PS5, iOS, and Android, and we recently learned that it has achieved a massive 100 million downloads

Before the new version arrives, you're still in time to roll for the second new five-star character of version 2.0, Sparkle

Speaking of HoYoverse's other games, just today we saw the release of Genshin Impact's version 4.5 with its new five-star character, Chiori.
