Today Shift Up announced the next crossover collaboration coming to its popular mobile game Goddess of Victory: Nikke, and it's with the well-known anime series Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-.
The collaboration will begin with the update coming on Thursday, March 21.
According to the press release, gacha featuring characters from the Re:ZERO anime will appear in the game alongside an original story and multiple limited-time events.
We also learn the plot of the story, which involves the girls from Re:ZERO getting summoned to the world of Nikke. To return to their original world, they need to win a cooking contest that involves a prize that can generate a D-Wave fluctuation.
To win, they start their culinary training alongside the Maid For You Squad.
This isn't the first crossover from other IPs coming to Goddess of Victory: Nikke. We previously saw collaborations with NieR: Automata and Chainsaw Man.ù
If you're unfamiliar with Goddess of Victory: Nikke, is a free-to-play game for PC, iOS, and Android that was released about a year and a half ago (the first anniversary was celebrated at the end of October 2023), and has proven very successful among fans of Gagha games.
It's developed by Shift Up, a South Korean studio owned by famous artist Hyung-tae Kim, who previously worked on the distinctive character design of games like Magna Carta and Blade & Souls.
The studio previously released the popular mobile game Destiny Chils and is about to debut on home consoles with its action hack-and-slash game for PS5 Stellar Blade (previously known by its working title Project EVE) which definitely shares part of its style with Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- is a popular anime that debuted in 2016 and already had two seasons, with a third announced last year. It still doesn't have an official air date.
It's one of the most popular isekai anime in the industry, and it's inspired by the light novel series by Tappei Nagatsuki which debuted in 2014 and is still ongoing.
It also generated multiple games, the latest of which is a JRPG titled Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World Witch’s Re:surrection, which has not been released just yet.
