Today Shift Up, developer of the popular mobile and PC game Goddess of Victory: Nikke treated fans with a lovely music video.
The video focuses on "Camellia," the theme song of the New Year Event aptly titled "New Year, New Sword."
Of course, heavily featured is also the new Nikke Scarlet: Black Shadow, who is at the forefront of the event.
We also get a list of the artists who made the song possible:
- Producer / Director - Cosmograph
- Composer - Nauts
- Arranger - Nauts
- Lyrics - N.U.
- Vocal - STARRYSKY
- String - JamStrings
You can enjoy the song below. One thing is for sure: while for many the central theme of Goddess of Victory: Nikke may be a bit of a meme, Shift Up is really strong in production values.
If you're unfamiliar with Goddess of Victory: Nikke, is a free-to-play game for PC, iOS, and Android that has been around for a little more than a year (the first anniversary was celebrated at the end of October, 2023).
While there is no price of admission, you probably don't need me to tell you that there are plenty of microtransactions for those who want to partake and make things easier.
Its developer, Shift-Up, is owned by well-known Korean artist Hyung-tae Kim, whom you may be familiar with for the distinctive character design of games like Magna Carta and Blade & Souls.
At the moment, the developer is working on an action hack-and-slash game for PS5 titled Stellar Blade (previously known by its working title Project EVE) which certainly shares some core values with Goddess of Victory: Nikke.
Recently it has been the focus of a publishing deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment and its release has been delayed to 2024. Previously, it was supposed to come in 2023.
